Sora Pov
After driving down the road I overheard the hedgehog pulling himself together. "Oh, my head." he complained. "You'll be fine." I assured him with a smirk. He turned his head swiftly and looked at me and gasped with a shocked face. "You're... you're a hedgehog, like me!" he yelled excitedly as his face turned to excitement. Suddenly he climbed to the backseat and examined me up and down. "How, how is this possible?" he questioned, still smiling. "Believe me, I've been trying to figure that out myself when I saw you." I said assuringly with a smirk. "I gotta say, love the style you have. Seriously, those are some cool looking shoes and gloves! I'm kind of jealous right now with the streaks!" he complimented. This conversation I was having with him right now, it was one I've always wanted, always dreamed of having, someone who I could genuinely speak to. I smiled, gave him a thumbs up and said, "thanks, not a bad style yourself."
Just then the human cleared his throat. "Um, excuse me, I have some questions for both of you at the moment as well" he said, clearly not happy. We both agreed that we'll talk more and get to know each other a little later as the other hedgehog climbed back to the front. 'Dang it, we didn't give each other our names.' I said in my mind as I frowned.
"All right pals you need to start answering questions: who are you both? What, are you both?" he questioned both of us while giving us both glances. "Were hedgehogs, he made that clear earlier." I said while motioning my head towards the other hedgehog. "Yeah, didn't you hear me?" the hedgehog asked. "But unlike him in the back, i'm in big trouble." he said shamefully as his ears were slightly flopping down. "Oh, you're in big trouble?" the human repeated the hedgehogs words. He then continued, "You're not the one who punched some sort of government weirdo back there." The other hedgehog then started to stand up and raised his voice, "You think you have problems?! I lost my rings!" "Rings? What are you talking about?" the human asked. I then asked," Yeah, I saw those when he tranqed you. what were those things?" The hedgehog then turned to me. "Wait, you don't have any rings? Let alone, don't even know what they are?" he asked. I shook my head. "How did you get here then?" he once again asked. "I've always been here, I think." I answered.
He looked at me confusingly, giving me the idea that maybe I wasn't from this world, but a different one. "Okay, listen, rings are how all advanced cultures travel between worlds." he then explained to the both of us. He then continued, "And now mine are on top of a pointy building I've only ever seen with your skin tight T-shirt." "Hey", the human said. I covered my mouth to hold in my laugh from that. The human gave me a frown. The hedgehog continued, "So I'd like both of your help to take me to San Francisco so I can get back my rings and use them to go to the mushroom planet." "Mushroom Planet?" I asked confusingly. "Yes." The hedgehog answered. "Mushroom Planet." the human stated. "YES!" the hedgehog exclaimed.
"Right." the human said while pulling over. He then opened the passenger door. "Ok buddies, out you both go." he said. "I'm sorry, what?", me and the hedgehog both asked confusingly while looking at each other then at him. "Look, this is the worst possible time for me to get myself into trouble, okay?" the human said frustratingly as he continued. "You asked me to save your life. I saved your life. So please, go find your rings, and your mushroom land." He then turned to me. "And you, while I'm grateful you helped us escape, you need to go too. Tag along with him, (gesturing to the other hedgehog) he could use your help." he said. "Hopefully, I'm gonna end up in a hospital bed, and the doctor is gonna tell me that my colonoscopy was a big success, okay? So goodbye." he finished.
The other hedgehog felt sorrow, while all I felt was frustration since he was just gonna leave us right here. I mean sure, I can help the other hedgehog, but with something like this, we're gonna need the humans help. "Ok, goodbye." the hedgehog sadly said as he left the car. "Yeah, so long." I said, showing a bit of anger teleporting out. The hedgehog was surprised by what I just did, but still felt sad towards the human. The human just stared at us and we stared at him. "Why aren't you both leaving?" he asked. "I don't know where San Francisco is." the hedgehog answered. "And I don't know my way there from here either." I answered as well. "It's west." the human told us. "West?" we said. "Straight shot. Can't miss it." the human then added on.
That didn't sound right to me, but to the other hedgehog: "fine, that's cool, I'm totally cool with saying goodbye now." he said, then zoomed off in the opposite direction of the car, clearly going the wrong way. The human then looked at me as I looked in the distance the other hedgehog went. "Why aren't you going with him?" he asked. Then I looked at him with a bored face. "Because he'll be back in 3, 2..." counting down with my fingers then snapping them. And speak of the devil, look who's back, and wet, covered with seaweed, a starfish and a fish on his head, who is clearly unhappy right now.
"So, as I crashed into the cold dark water of the Pacific, I realized a few things. A: I have no idea where I'm going. B: Neither does he (pointing at me with his thumb). C: saltwater stings." "It does" I mumbled, agreeing with him. He continued "D: I shouldn't even be on this planet right now but, I am." he finished, clearly showing that he's ticked off. "Why?!", he sarcastically asked. "Because you shot me!" he yelled. "I know" the human said, knowing that it was his fault. "You did shoot him, so it is kinda your fault." I said, backing up the other hedgehog. "All right. I heard him the first time, you don't have to... pile it on. Good grief." the human said. The other hedgehog then pointed out other things in his situation, "I'm wet, I'm cold, there's a FISH ON MY HEAD! And clearly, I don't think either of us (gesturing to me) are gonna be able to do this on our own" he said.
"He's right." I said, backing him up. "Usually I would know which way to go because I've been to mostly larger cities, and I always take the same directions to go from there and back, and the only reason I found you guys was because I tracked the other hedgehogs energy, so I'm clearly lost on which way we have to go to get to San Francisco from here." The human then stared at us as we stared back at him as the fish slid off of the other hedgehog's head. He then sighed, "all right, get in the truck, both of you." We then lit up relief. "REALLY?" we asked with relief. He then shook all the water, seaweed, and starfish off of him that caused him to become a fluff ball that forced me not to laugh as I covered my mouth.
"I guess it is a little bit of my fault that all of this is happening to you." he said guiltily. "Not a little bit." the hedgehog said. "Entirely. It is entirely your fault." I just chuckled at that and put my hand on his shoulder. "Okay, don't give him that. It's not his fault that much." He stared at me for a second until "Fine, it's not entirely his fault," he said. "Okay you two, are you coming or not?" the human said. "Yes." we both said. He shook his body rapidly, getting his furs and spikes back to normal. He hopped in the car while I just teleported back in. "Roadtrip! WOOHOO!" he screamed happily and started looking out the front window. The human just sighed and said "What am I doing." I knew this for sure, this is gonna be a loooong trip.
