Finding Our Paths Sonic Movie X OC

3rd POV

Sonic woke up bright and early. Much more early than either Tom or Sora, ready to be back on the road again. But he noticed two things: The blanket was laying on top of him, and Sora was on the opposite side of the bed. Who tucked Sonic in? Maybe he thinks he should ask either one of them when they wake up. He then looked over to his list on the shelf, but he noticed one was crossed off. It was 'make a real friend'. 

That's funny, Sonic doesn't remember crossing that one off. Suddenly he noticed both Tom and Sora were both waking up. Tom stretched his arms out to wake himself up some more, while Sora made a massive yawn and cracked his neck. Sora looked over to Sonic and Tom's direction while rubbing his sleepy eyes. 

"Morning guys," he said tiredly. "Morning Sora." Sonic and Tom replied back. Tom grabbed his phone to check the time. They have 10 minutes to get ready and grab something to eat, and make their way to San Francisco. "All right you two, we gotta leave soon. Want to eat here, or find something on the road?" Sora and Sonic debated for a bit, and decided. "We'll get something on the way, it'll be easier for us." Sora said while Sonic nodded his head with the decision. "Alright, get ready. We have 10 minutes to be out." Tom instructed. 

The two hedgehogs nodded and took turns to brush their teeth with separate toothbrushes while Tom went last. As they were about to walk out the door, Sora was stopped by a hand on his shoulder. He looked behind him and Sonic asked Tom if could talk with Sora for a moment. Tom thought for a second until. "Fine, but don't take too long, okay?" The hedgehogs nodded and began their conversation. "So, what did you want to talk to me for?" Sonic pondered for a moment to speak his mind, afraid that he was gonna say something wrong. 

"I was wondering, when we find my rings, would you want to go with me to the mushroom planet? Besides, I kinda want to test how fast you are compared to me." Sonic asked. Sora was not expecting that question. He thought he was gonna ask about the friend part of his bucket list. "Sonic, as much as I would, I can't." he said apologetically. "Wha-why though? You said how you hated being alone on earth for so long. So why not go with me and you won't have to be alone?" Sonic confusingly asked. "Because no matter how lonely I feel, this planet has been my home ever since. And even if I'm not Sora that the voice said in my head, I can't abandon these people here." Sora stated. 

Sonic lowered his head in shame. He felt like Sora would agree to go with him so they both wouldn't feel alone. But he also knew that Sora could make his own choice at the same time. "(sigh) I understand, it's your choice anyways." Sonic said with a low voice. Sora felt a pressure ramming him, thinking that he might've said the wrong thing. "Hey, cheer up. Just because you're leaving, doesn't mean we can't see each other again." Sora said, trying to cheer him up. "How about this: once a month, I can go visit you by creating a ring portal. We can hang out for at least a week or two. Then we repeat the cycle." 

Sonic pondered for a moment until he decided. It's not perfect, but it's better than nothing. "Yeah, we can work with that." Sonic said with a small smile. "Also, who tucked me in last night?" he asked. "Oh, that was Tom that did it." Sora clarified. "oh okay. also, did i accidentally cross something off the list at one point?" Sonic said, trying to get a small answer. But Sora knew exactly what was talking about and decided to tell him before he left. "I dont think so. Why?" Sora shrugged. "Oh, nothing, it's because I might have accidentally crossed one off" It was awkward silence for a second until Sora decided to end it. "We should probably get going, we don't want Tom to wait up on us do we?" "Yeah, your probably right." Sonic agreed. They ran to the car, hopped in, and the drive began again.

Timeskip

Sora POV

It's been a while since we left the motel and got food for ourselves at a nearby drive thru restaurant. We finally made it out of Nevada and into California. This was it, the home stretch. Now we just have to make it to San Francisco. My mind then found its way to how far I've gone. First, waking up in a lab with no memories, but knowing that I have to protect the people of this planet. Next, not finding any answers to who I am. Sure, I went back to the lab at one point to find answers, but nothing. Then, being alone for so long that it was eating away at me from the inside.
