I opened my eyes, and there it was-the same cold, sterile ceiling staring back at me. Here I am, back in this messed-up place... again. A part of me had held onto the faint, foolish hope that I'd wake up in my own bed, in my own reality, that maybe this nightmare had just been a strange, twisted dream.
But another question gnawed at the edges of my mind-who is this "me"? What did he mean by that? Was he referring to my future self? Or perhaps another version of myself?
And if I'm here, stuck in this so-called SCP reality, what about the person who was supposed to own this body? What happened to them? Did they also go into my body in the real reality? Or... Did they just... vanish? Or is there another version of them still existing, unaware of what happened to me?
I couldn't even tell anyone about this-who could I trust with something this insane? The thought of explaining it to anyone felt like an impossible task. And even if I did, what then? If I told someone, if I tried to explain what Is happening, Would it really cause the end of the world? How could it? I don't understand any of this.
I ran a hand through my hair, my thoughts spiraling. It didn't make sense. How could something as simple as sharing the truth lead to something so catastrophic? Was there a hidden danger in revealing the truth, something that I still didn't understand?
The door swung open suddenly, and a female Dr. Bright strolled in, a wide smile on her face. Behind her stood a tall figure, a man I hadn't seen before. "(Y/N)! Rise and shine-oh, you're already awake! Perfect!"
I sat up, blinking at her, trying to shake off the mental fog. "What is it this time?"
She giggled, clearly unfazed by my confusion. "Well, as you can see, I know your name now!" She then tugged the tall man closer to her side. "And this," she gestured dramatically, "is my brother— Agent Mikell Bright!"
I stared at them, trying to wrap my head around what she'd just said. Brother? I glanced over at agent Mikell, noting his cowboy hat and the oddly casual way he stood. Dr. Bright has a brother? But hadn't she told me she was close to 150? How on earth is he still alive?
"Aren't you supposed to be... dead?" I asked bluntly, pointing at Agent Mikell, who simply gave a lazy, amused smile.
Dr. Bright let out a laugh, giving her brother a light shove. "That's putting it mildly," she said. "Mikell's been around for a long time, just like me. Perks of being part of the Bright family, I suppose."
