After a few more details, Yamato left.

Tsunade turned to me with a somber look on her face. "Have you honestly not had any experience with the Nine-Tails Cloak yet?" she asked, her gaze steady on mine.

I shook my head. "No, I haven't," I replied quietly, looking down.

"I see... While that's good, it's also bad, seeing as how it could turn you into..." She trailed off, not finishing her sentence—but her silence said everything. Her words confirmed what they all currently thought of me.

A ticking bomb, I thought with a sigh. "I know," I said aloud, lifting my eyes to meet hers. "I honestly wish I could assure you I won't explode... but I have no clue about my future. And everyone has a breaking point."

The air grew heavy again.

They all looked down, the gravity of my words settling in. No one spoke. The silence in the room wasn't awkward—it was full of understanding and unspoken fear.

After a long pause, Tsunade crossed her arms and looked at me one more time. "We'll monitor both you and Naruto closely—especially during high-stress missions. Yamato will be instrumental in managing this situation."

I nodded slowly. "I understand, Lady Tsunade. I'll do my best to keep everything in control... but I can't promise I'll be able to suppress my emotions forever. Life isn't exactly stress-free."

Kakashi let out a soft chuckle, breaking the tension just a bit. "With Naruto around, stress comes in bundles."

The others chuckled as well, small smiles forming on their faces—probably reminiscing about the many times Naruto had driven them all up a wall.

"Oh, before I forget," Tsunade said, turning her gaze back to me. "Y/N... how much do you know about Sai and why Danzo wanted him as part of the new Team Kakashi?"

I let out a breath, my expression growing distant. "Sai is an orphan trained by Danzo. He was conditioned to cut off his emotions and to prioritize the mission above all else—even people. To become ANBU, he had to kill his own partner... a boy around the same age as him. They were both raised and trained together, but Sai was ordered to eliminate him as part of the final test."

The room fell silent again, but this time with a different weight.

"Danzo molded him into the perfect tool," I continued. "He was never meant to connect with people. Just complete orders. That's what he was built for."

Tsunade's eyes darkened. "That sounds exactly like something Danzo would do."

"Exactly," I said. "Putting him on the team... it wasn't just about replacing Sasuke. Danzo wanted a loyal agent close to Naruto—and close to me. To keep tabs on the Nine-Tails, no doubt."

Kakashi frowned. "So Sai isn't just a teammate. He's surveillance."

"Pretty much," I said with a small nod. "But he's not evil. Just... lost. He's going to take time."

There was another pause, then Tsunade sighed. "We'll keep a close eye on him, too. If he steps out of line, I want to know immediately."

"Understood," I replied.

Kakashi gave me a thoughtful look. "You sure know a lot about the future."

I smirked faintly. "Comes with the territory."

After Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Shizune left, I flopped back onto my bed with a groan, staring up at the ceiling. Across the room, Kakashi casually opened his book again, flipping to where he'd left off.

"You know the ceiling won't change no matter how hard you stare at it," he commented without looking up.

I shrugged. "It could—if you move outside."

He glanced at me briefly, unimpressed. "Only your surroundings would change. Not the ceiling."

I sighed. He was right, but I didn't want to admit it. I turned onto my side, resting my head on my arm and letting my eyes wander back to him.

"You were four when I was born, right?" I asked, watching the way his eye flicked toward me at the question.

He raised an eyebrow, a little amused. "Yes... why the sudden curiosity?"

I shrugged, avoiding his gaze. "It's just... you were supposed to be twelve, yet you were only four instead. That's a four-year difference."

I sighed, speaking more to myself than to him. "Four years of difference..."

Kakashi closed his book, placing it on his lap. "You're thinking about the timelines again, aren't you?"

I nodded slowly. "Sometimes it just hits me... how off everything is. People born too early, some too late. Events moving too fast or not at all. It's like watching a story you know by heart suddenly go off-script."

He was quiet for a moment before leaning back against his pillow. "But you're still here. Which means maybe the story needed a new character."

I looked at him, surprised by how gently he said it.

"You think I'm supposed to change things?" I asked.

"I think you already are," he replied, glancing at me again with that soft, unreadable look in his eye.

I smiled faintly, the heaviness in my chest lightening just a little. "Thanks, Kakashi."

He gave a half-shrug, half-smirk. "Don't mention it. Just stop staring at the ceiling like it owes you something."

That made me laugh—softly, but genuinely.
