Your POV: 

Finally, Friday! I've been waiting all day for Pitaya to return from their usual flying and chasing things routine, things were abit dull and boring when it was just me alone in our shared home. By the time I started up dinner, there she was at the door! Her triumphant laugh and booming voice gave a bit of a startle.

"Y/n! You won't believe the battle I had today!" she starts off, already breaking into story time as I focused on food, "It was out near those glittering rocks by the shore again. These crabs thought they were tough againssst me, but I ssswept them up with sssome fire. Then next thing you know, their cap'n popsss up!".

"Oh, really?" I glance at them for a second, then back to the bubbling pot of water and pasta, stirring it in abnormal circles. 

"Yeah. Heh, luckily I had my ace to cover me" Pitaya winks, showing off that glistening power gem of hers on their wrist. 

"Ah, the gift I gave you!" I grin, taking their hand gently and turning it ever so to see its glow in the light. That gem was a very rare find I fetched from an expedition. Luckily, it had some use to Pitaya who dealt fire magic. "I guess it saved your butt then, huh?" a chuckle slips out, then a yelp as Pitaya playfully whacks my rear with her tail. 

"You sssay it like it was my lassst ressort!" She scoffs, "but it doesss do hefty damage, I can't be entirely mad at ya". Pitaya ruffles my hair up, strands of hair falling in front of my face which obstructed my view of the pot.

"Yeah yeah" I grin, parting my hair to the side and back to fixing up a meal for the two of us. As always, we had our meal on the couch, squished next to each other and occasionally drumming up a story or light chatter. "So... how big were the crabs?" I mumbled, Pitaya looking back to me with another wide grin.

"Oh, HUGE! Nearly the sssize of me! But eh, of courssse they can't do nothing when I go into dragon form" she winks, laughing as she downs more pasta hungrily. I set my plate down and wipe my mouth on a napkin, scooting closer to brush my fingers through their hair. "Though I hope they don't come to that ssshore again, it wasss annoying dealing with ssso many at once" Pitaya huffs.

"Yeah, those crabs get really territorial. Would suck if we see em again while out".

"Well good thing I gave their bossss a good whooping! That'll ssshow them". 

"Oh, you want me to handle that?" I point to their cleaned off plate, Pitaya shaking her head.

"I got it. You do lotsss of the cooking anywaysss, I can do the cleaning myssself" she chuckled, patting my head. 

"Alright then, if it makes you happy" I hand her my plate, sinking back into the cushions of the couch. "Remember, cups go upside down!". It was only two minutes later when Pitaya leaped back on the couch, the both of us bumping shoulders at her dramatic entrance. "Yeesh! Jumpy today" I laugh, my fingers once again tangled in Pitaya's white hair. 

"Ah pbbt- you know you enjoy it, ssso sshussh up" She laughs. Pitaya tosses a hand behind her head, reaching for my hands which were busy braiding.

"A-t-t! I'm working over here". The slightest scoff could be heard from the dragon, then a hand once again gripping my leg for comfort. After possibly an excruciatingly long time braiding, it was done! Of course with so much hair, it's a hassle to evenly part each thick lock, but it was at least done properly. "There ya go! Go on, look at yourself" I nudge Pitaya up from the couch, proud of my handiwork. She looked at the mirror above the sofa, flicking the braid over her shoulder with a small nod of approval.

"It'sss not bad. I like it..." Pitaya grins, patting my head lightly, "... I ssshould let you braid it more often".

"I'm not your hair stylist, you can learn yourself" I roll my eyes, leaving a small peck on their cheek.

"Ughhh... you have to teach me then" Pitaya whined, slouching down on the couch.

"I will! Promise". After a few more snuggles, cheap lovey dovey words, and jokes, sleep won us over and the couch became our bed that night.
