Despite her annoyance with her current situation, Ciel couldn't resist the pride that rose within her at the sight of her master successfully outsmarting her.
“I'm going to tell you something, Ciel. This is a partnership, you understand what that means right?”
The former Lord of Wisdom couldn't understand the point of Rimuru's words.
“I don't understand,” she simply stated, already resigned to whatever prank Rimuru intended to pull on her.
“Basically, what I'm trying to say is…” Rimuru floated closer and placed his palm on her head, patting it gently.
“Let me do something for you too,” The smile he showed her accompanied with those words, resonated with Ciel.
Ciel considered herself complete.
She thought Rimuru didn't see that in her, that he was dissatisfied.
But no, she finally saw what he truly wanted.
It was not a matter of being complete or not, Rimuru had never looked at her in those terms in the first place.
He was simply doing what he thought was best for her. Realising this bit at Ciel's self-esteem.
How could she not realize something so simple? She claimed to be doing the same after all.
It slowly dawned on Ciel, an occurrence that was so rare that quantifying it as a probability was an exercise in futility.
Manas: Ciel had been wrong.
She gave up on any attempts at resisting, deciding to indulge Rimuru.
Rimuru, noticing her change in demeanor, was pleasantly surprised.
He actually expected a lot more resistance. If Ciel chose to remain steadfast in her disagreement, he would've set her free and tried another day.
He didn't want to actually force her to do anything.
‘So you do understand after all, that's good.’ He thought as he smiled at the impassive looking Ciel.
“Acknowledged. What does master plan to do with me?”
‘Err, that actually sounds suspicious without context, Ciel.’ Rimuru was momentarily sidetracked.
Realising the glare that his partner had fixed on him, he snapped out of his musings and cleared his nonexistent throat.
“Well, you should have access to Space-Time Domination in that body, right?” He asked, not entirely sure of the specifications of the Parallel Existence Ciel had been using.
“A correct assumption. It's the only one of master's abilities currently under my authority, besides the Nihilty Collapse.”
“Oh, that's good then. Alright, you should already know what I want you to do,”
He was correct, Ciel knew what he expected of her right now.
And she wasn't the least bit pleased.
“Is master suggesting that I leave him alone and gallivant across the multiverse? Preposterous.”
‘Eh…she's not having any of it.’ Rimuru lamented in his head as he observed Ciel, who had crossed her arms in a show of disapproval.
“Oh come on, what's the problem? Your core is still with me and you can be recalled instantly. And besides, is your trust in me that feeble?”
The final question made Ciel halt.
She could understand the reasoning behind Rimuru's argument. In fact, it made perfect logical sense.
