With tae and jimin

After a long lecture, Tae and Jimin went to the canteen.  The moment they stepped inside, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and warm pastries greeted them. Tae stretched dramatically, letting out a groan.

"Finally! I thought that lecture would never end," Tae said, rubbing the back of his neck. "If I had to hear the professor say ‘structural integrity’ one more time, I swear I would’ve designed a building just to drop it on him.”

Jimin smirked, grabbing a tray. “Oh, please. You wouldn’t even get the proportions right. It’d collapse on its own before you could drop it.”

“Excuse me?” Tae gasped, clutching his chest in dramatic offense. “Do you not remember who won first place in last semester’s model competition? Oh, that’s right—it was me.” he said proudly

Jimin rolled his eyes as he reached for a sandwich. “First of all, you won because the judges didn’t notice the cracks in your base. Secondly, I could’ve easily won if I hadn’t been stuck helping you with your renders the night before.” jimin said with an annoyed expression.

Tae grabbed a cup of coffee, narrowing his eyes. “Helping? You mean working with me by distracting me with your ‘Taehyung, this isn’t aligned; Taehyung, this column is too wide.’ You should’ve just admitted you were intimidated.”

“Intimidated? By you?” Jimin laughed loudly, earning a few glances from nearby tables. “You’re the guy who thought a roof terrace could support a swimming pool without reinforcement beams. Should I remind you how that ended?” jimin stated with a serious like expression.

Tae groaned, dramatically covering his face with his hand. “Why do you always bring that up? It was one mistake, Jimin. One! You act like you’ve never accidentally placed a window inside a staircase.”

Jimin gasped, looking genuinely offended. “That was one time! And it was because someone wouldn’t stop distracting me with his terrible playlist.” jimin said.

“Hey, my playlist is iconic,” Tae shot back, crossing his arms. “You’re just jealous you don’t have a taste as mine.”

“taste?” Jimin snorted. “You literally had ‘Baby Shark’ on repeat when we were pulling an all-nighter. You call that taste?”

Tae grinned mischievously. “It kept me awake, didn’t it?”

They both burst into laughter, finally grabbing their food and heading to a corner table. Settling down, Tae leaned back in his chair and sighed contentedly. “You know, for all your complaints, you’d be lost without me.”

Jimin raised an eyebrow, taking a sip of his juice. “Lost? Please. If anything, you’d be wandering around a half-built model, wondering why your walls don’t line up.”

Tae smirked, pointing a fry at him. “And you’d be stuck in your perfectionist bubble, tweaking a design forever without actually finishing it.”

They both chuckled, the playful banter subsiding as they started eating. Despite the constant teasing, it was clear their friendship was built on mutual respect and trust—though neither would admit it outright.

As they were eating, Tae suddenly put his sandwich down, a soft smile spreading across his face. "Guess what, Jimin? Kook laughed today," he said, his voice tinged with both joy and a touch of melancholy.

"I was so, so, so happy to see him smile. You have no idea how long I’ve waited for a moment like that." Tae said with a bright smile

Jimin looked up from his food, surprised. “He did? That’s amazing, ahhhh i missed it. Btw What happened that made him laugh?”
