Khai's POV

The office was bustling with its usual energy when I arrived the next morning. Employees darted from one desk to another, phones rang incessantly, and the hum of conversations created a backdrop of productivity. I walked through it all, maintaining my usual low-profile demeanor. No one needed to know I was the boss's daughter.

As I entered the conference room for yet another planning meeting, my mind wandered back to yesterday. That intern—Rain Chadwick. Or should I say, Tornado Princess. She was unlike anyone I'd ever met. Bold, sharp-tongued, and yet, there was a vulnerability in her eyes she tried so hard to mask.

Dad's voice snapped me out of my thoughts. "Khai, pay attention. This part concerns you."

I looked up, pretending I'd been following all along. The head of our marketing team, Mr. Jin, was explaining the next steps for the condo project's promotional rollout.

"We've decided to assign the preliminary branding to one of our intern groups," he said. "It'll give them hands-on experience while also bringing fresh perspectives to the campaign. They'll present their concepts next week."

"Intern groups?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes," Mr. Jin replied. "One of the groups includes Raina Chadwick. She's quite promising."

My stomach flipped at the mention of her name. Of course, she'd be part of this.

Dad nodded approvingly. "Good. Keep me updated on their progress."

The meeting droned on, but my focus kept drifting. If Rain was working on this project, it meant I'd be seeing her again—probably more than I anticipated.

Rain's POV

The office was already alive with activity by the time I got to my desk. Therese had sent me a text earlier, reminding me not to be late for our group meeting. As if I didn't already have enough on my plate.

"Morning, Princess," Therese greeted when I plopped into my chair beside her.

"Don't start," I muttered, opening my laptop.

Kroft joined us a few minutes later, and we began brainstorming ideas for the condo project branding. It was a big deal. If our group did well, it could mean future opportunities—or at least a glowing recommendation for when I graduated from this internship.

"Alright, let's focus," Kroft said, pulling out a whiteboard. "We need a theme that resonates with luxury and community."

"Something modern but timeless," Therese added.

Therese leaned over, nudging me. "Got any ideas, Rain? You're the creative one."

I sighed, tapping my pen against my notebook. My head was already swimming with concepts, but the pressure was getting to me. "Let me think about it," I said.

As the discussion continued, I couldn't help but wonder about Khai. What exactly did she do here? She hadn't mentioned her position, but there was something about her that screamed she wasn't just another employee.

And then there was last night—the way she'd handled things at the hospital, how she'd stayed even when she didn't have to. It was confusing. Why did she care so much?

"Rain?" Kroft's voice broke into my thoughts.

"Huh?"

"We're assigning tasks. You're in charge of visual concepts," he said, handing me a list.

"Great," I muttered, already feeling the weight of responsibility.

Khai's POV

By lunchtime, I found myself wandering toward the marketing department. I wasn't sure why—maybe curiosity, or maybe something else entirely.
