Rain's POV

The sharp noise from the printer jolted through my head like a sharp stab, only adding to the headache that had been building all morning. I tried to focus on my screen, but the letters blurred together, and the words didn't make sense anymore. I glanced at the clock—2 PM. My smartwatch buzzed insistently, a reminder to take my medicine. The dizziness worsened, and I rubbed my temples, trying to fight off the sensation.

"Rain," Therese's voice cut through the fog. I hadn't even noticed her approach. She was already standing beside my desk, looking at me with concern. "You're not okay, are you?"

I nodded, trying to shake off the uneasy feeling that was making my limbs feel heavy. "I'll be fine. Just a little dizzy."

Therese wasn't convinced. She handed me a glass of water. "Rest for a bit. You know you don't have to push yourself like this. We'll be fine without you for a moment."

I opened my mouth to protest, but before I could say anything, she called out for Kroft.

Moments later, Kroft appeared, looking slightly flustered from his paperwork but still with a calm air about him. His brow furrowed as he saw my condition. "Don't push too hard, okay?" His voice was low and filled with concern. "You know what happens when you do."

I gave him a weak smile, but the weight of his words hit me. Both of them knew all too well what pushing myself could mean. They'd been there for me long enough to know how easily my condition could get worse, to the point where it would feel like I was losing control over everything again.

Transient Global Amnesia. It wasn't the most glamorous thing to deal with, and yet it had been my constant companion since that one incident years ago. Sometimes, it was just an inconvenience, like forgetting a small detail about my day, or other times it was as if I was erasing chunks of my life altogether.

"Okay," I muttered, taking the glass from Therese's outstretched hand and swallowing the water slowly. "I'll rest for a bit."

But deep down, I knew I couldn't afford to stop. There was so much to do, and I didn't want to fall behind. The work, the deadlines, the expectations—it was a lot. But for now, I let myself breathe for a moment, allowing the chaos to settle just a little.

The two of them stood there for a moment longer, watching me, as if waiting for some sort of confirmation that I would actually rest.

"Alright," I said quietly, my voice still shaky from the dizziness. "I'll take it easy."

They both nodded, still unsure but not wanting to push further. Kroft lingered for a second longer before returning to his station, while Therese stayed by my side a bit longer, just making sure I wasn't going to fall apart at the seams.

As they returned to their tasks, I sat back in my chair, closing my eyes and trying to let the wave of exhaustion pass. The dizziness was still there, but the medication would kick in soon enough.

I just needed to hold it together for a little longer.

Khai's POV

I found myself walking towards the hallway of the 16th floor, where the marketing department was located. I wasn't sure why, but after the tension with my Dad earlier, I felt the strange need to check on Rain. Maybe it was because I had become so used to her snarky remarks and unpredictable nature. Maybe I just needed to get away from the pressure for a moment.

I swung the door open to the marketing office, and there she was. Rain was sitting at her desk, her hand pressed against her temple as she slowly massaged her temples. Her posture was slumped, and the look on her face told me she wasn't feeling great. For a split second, I felt a flicker of concern.
