I grit my teeth, eyes locked onto him. “Tomura Shigaraki.”

A slow, drawn-out laugh escapes him, his shoulders shaking with amusement. He throws his arms wide, head tilting as if savoring the moment.

“Ah, so you do remember me! I’m so glad!”

His sudden lunge is almost too quick to react to. His fingers stretch toward my face—fingernails cracked, skin dry and flaking like he’s constantly scratching at an itch only he can feel.

I barely shift in time, my body turning intangible just as his hand passes through where my cheek had been. I flip back, putting distance between us.

“Ah, Y/N, I remember when you weren’t fast enough to dodge me,” he muses, his voice sickly sweet with nostalgia. “I’m glad you’ve learned… although I do miss seeing your face crack.”

His words send an ugly rush of heat through my veins, my hands clenching into fists. Stay calm. That’s what he wants. He wants me to lose control.

Before I can respond, a familiar swirling of mist materializes beside him. The dark purple smoke shifts unnaturally, warping the space around it before solidifying into a humanoid figure.

“Tomura Shigaraki.”

Shigaraki’s irritated expression turns toward the mist. “Kurogiri.”

So that’s his name.

“Did you manage to kill Thirteen?”

My heart stops for a second. I haven’t looked back once since running to help Aizawa. A sick weight settles in my stomach. I should have stayed… No, if I had, Aizawa might be in even worse shape.

Kurogiri's voice remains level, calm. “The rescue hero is out of commission. However, some students escaped my grasp—one of them made it outside the facility.”

For the first time, I see something like panic flash through Shigaraki’s eyes. His fingers twitch, then—

He starts scratching.

His nails dig into his neck, harsh and desperate, faster and faster, as if clawing at something unseen.

“Kurogiri… you fool…” His voice is strained, almost childish, before it turns to ice. “If you weren’t our warp gate, I’d tear apart every last atom in your body.”

Then—he just stops. His hand falls to his side, and he straightens, suddenly eerily composed.

“There’s no way we can win if dozens of pros show up. It’s game over. Back to the title screen.” He exhales sharply, shaking his head. “And I was really looking forward to finishing this today… Damn it. Let’s go home.”

That’s when I hear it—movement not too far away.

I whip my head toward the sound, my breath hitching.

Midoriya. Tsu. Mineta.

They’re nearby, too close, and Shigaraki has noticed them too. His lips curl upward, and my stomach drops.

“Oh, before we leave, let’s make sure the Symbol of Peace is broken.”

No.

“Let’s wreck his pride.”

No, no, no—don’t do it!

Shigaraki moves like a shadow, his speed catching me off guard as he launches toward them. His hand reaches out—his fingers stretching toward Tsu’s face.

“Let’s make this hurt~”

His fingers make contact.

For a second, my breath catches—then nothing happens.
