When It's Time. | SEULRENE

Irene's POV

"Were did you find-" I automatically held her hand, resting on the table, when I felt the boat move already. She squeeze mine in assurance.

Not gonna lie, when she said we're riding a cruise it scared me but I trust her.

"It's okay Hyun. The ride will be smooth." What she said was true, the boat went on smoothly.

I look at view we have.

"This is nice." I said and face her again.

"I know you'll like it, even though you're scared of the water."

"I'm not that scared."

"If you say so." She let go of my hand and stand up from her chair.

"Where are you going?" I ask.

"Just going to use the restroom." Oh. "Stay here, they'll be serving the food soon." I give her a nod before I watch her disappear from my eye.

It took minutes and the food was already in front of me but Seulgi is not. I stopped the server who was about to walk past me.

"Excuse me, can I know where your restroom is?" She pointed it to me.

I got up and went to it. Seulgi was nowhere there and I'm starting to get worried now. I was about to talk to another staff when I notice a group in circle. I walk straight to it and there I saw Seulgi, talking to people and a familiar one beside her.

I can tell by her movement that she want to leave already and I don't know why she hasn't yet. Not long she look up and meet my eyes. I crossed my arms.

I see her excuse herself to leave but the guy stop her. I took in a deep breath trying to control myself. I get why she can't just leave them now.

It's her senior, one of the people she look up to since we were still a trainee. He attended the same event as we did. The people they are with are all strangers to me.

Next thing I know I was already walking my way to them.

"Hi, I don't mean to interrupt..." I saw how the guy's face lit up seeing me. He's one of them.

"Irene Bae." He said in disbelief. "You're not interrupting. What can I do for you? Do you want to join us?"

What amused me is when I look at Seulgi. She's looking at this senior differently now. She's glaring. I can't help but smile at that.

"I see you smile. Is that a yes?" He asks. I shook my head.

"No." He seemed surprise at my response. I face him. "If you don't mind? I'd like to take back Seulgi already." He look at Seul.

"You're here with Irene?" He asks her. I fake a cough, getting their attention. "Why don't you two just join us? It'll be fun, right Seulgi." He put his arms around Seulgi. I raise my brow and stare at it.

"No, thank you." I look at Seulgi in the eye. "Seulgi." I said it like a warning. There she goes removing this guy's arms around her.

"I'm sorry Oppa, maybe next time?" Is she serious? He was delighted hearing that.

"Really? Would Irene be down to that?" Before Seulgi can even answer I spoke first.

"No." I firmly said. "Now if you'll excuse us." I went closer to Seulgi and pulled her away from them.

I just let go of her when we got a little farther already.

"Hyun, I---"

"Next time?" I started out in disbelief. "You look like you were already dying to walk out on them before I went up to you, and you want a next time?"

"It's not that I would actually go, if he---"

"I know you would Seulgi. You're not the type who gives false hope to people." We got to our table and I took my seat.

I sighed looking at the food, that looks cold now.

"I'm sorry. I was just trying to be polite. He seemed to want to know you." I look at her with a glare.

"And what? You want me to get to know him?" I'm confuse. I thought I saw her glare at him when he talked to me. What's this?

"Oppa's a nice guy. Maybe it's time for you to make friends in the industry, don--"

"Are you hearing yourself Seulgi?" God! She is unbelievable! "I don't need friends. I have you and the girls already." I said to her.

"No, you only have me." That made me pause for a second. I look at her and I scoff. I mean, she's right.

"And you don't think that's enough for me." I said.

"It's not what I mean--"

"I don't want to befriend him." I firmly said. "Not after what I saw there. How he wasn't being considerate and forcefully make you stay there, you were uncomfortable."

"I wasn't." Sure. 

"Fine! If that's what you say, but that's not the only reason why I don't want any connection with him."

I saw how he looked at me. He's not up to being friends, at all. I've met a lot of people like him already and I'd rather keep my distance with them.

"I know you know what I mean Seulgi. You saw it too." I reminded her. "What? Your just going to let him?"

"You're gay. You're not actually going to fall for him." I laugh at that.

"Guys like him are persistent Seulgi. Specially if they are used to always getting what they want." I notice her change of expression at what I said. "I'm not saying there's a chance for me to give in to that, I'm saying it's bad news getting involve to people who already have those intentions from the start." 

She just stares right at me in silence. 

"After this, I suggest you avoid him already." I calmly said.

I don't plan on fighting with Seulgi in this whole 3-hour ride, but the whole  mood between us changed already.

"You know I can't do that. He's still my senior, Hyun."

"A senior that made you forget that you were here with another person. You were about to make me wait for God knows how long, if I hadn't come find you."

"I'm sorry." She said. I look at her.

I'm only getting started in knowing how Seulgi's life is, as an idol and not the person I'm always in a hide with. I must say, I'm already not a big fan of it.

What I'm seeing now is way different than the Seulgi's stories and what I see on the screen.

"I'm really sorry." She tries to reach for my hand but I avoid it by picking up the cutlery. "Hyun..."

"Let's just eat." I said. 

I can be a little upset, right?
