" tangled up "
︑︒⚬∙︓·⠄
Johnny strolls up to Ali, a wicked grin spreading across his face. They start exchanging words, tension thick in the air.
Without warning, Johnny snatches the radio out of her hands, pulling it away just as Ali makes a grab for it. For a moment, she fights to reclaim it, her fingers brushing against the cool metal of the radio, but before she can get a solid grip, Johnny yanks it away again.
She finally wrestles it back, quickly twisting the dial, trying to turn it back on. But Johnny's quicker. He jerks it from her once more, and without hesitation, he smashes it onto the pavement, the plastic shattering with a sickening crack.
Ali freezes, her expression stunned, as pieces of the radio scatter on the ground. Her anger is a palpable thing, her hands curling into fists.
And of course, just as the atmosphere grows tense, Daniel—bless his naïve soul—walks right up, like a moth to a flame.
"Don't touch it, punk!" Johnny yells, his voice low and threatening.
But Daniel doesn't flinch. His confusion paints itself across his face. "Come on, man, what's going on?"
Johnny steps closer, eyes burning with irritation. "You want it?" He holds the broken radio up, taunting. Daniel nods, hesitant but determined. That's all Johnny needs.
The shove comes fast, a violent push that sends the radio crashing to the ground. The air shifts—everybody's jaws drop, the chaos unfolding so quickly that it feels like a bad dream. And then—before I can even think—fists start flying. Daniel's moving in quick jabs, his body awkwardly but fiercely reacting to Johnny's attacks.
