" the calm before the storm "

I walk into the parking lot, Daniel's hand warm in mine as he leads me toward something I can't quite see. The cool night air brushes against my skin, the chill of winter reminding me that nothing lasts forever-not even moments like these.

"Your eyes are closed, right?" Daniel asks, his voice light, almost teasing.

I nod, humming in affirmation, trying to ignore the flutter in my stomach. I feel like he's leading me into something big, though I can't quite put my finger on what.

"You can open them now."

I do, and my breath catches. A car. A very, very nice car. And yellow. My jaw almost hits the pavement.

"Great heavens..." I breathe, the words falling out before I can stop them. My fingers graze the smooth, gleaming surface of the car, tracing the curves as if I could make sense of it by touch alone. "This is yours?"

Daniel grins, stepping away from me, proud. "All mine." He sounds so sure of himself, smirking like this moment was meant for him. "Mr. Miyagi gave it to me."

I stare at the car, almost hypnotized by the sleekness of it, the way the moonlight catches the paint and makes it glow. I bend a little closer, my curiosity taking the wheel. I run my fingers lightly over the rearview mirror, then glance back at Daniel. "And you know how to drive?"

"Working on it," he replies, the corner of his mouth twitching with amusement.

I can't help but chuckle at the thought of him behind the wheel, trying to navigate the world in a car that probably cost more than I've seen in my entire life. But that's Daniel LaRusso, always surprising me.
