Jacob and Newt sat at a quiet outdoor café, the same spot where Tina had met yesterday night with Yusuf. The air was filled with the faint hum of the city, but Jacob seemed miles away, his gaze distant and pensive.

"You know what I miss about Queenie?" he suddenly asked, breaking the silence.

Newt didn't immediately respond. His thoughts seemed to be wandering, lost in a place only he could reach.

"Everything," Jacob whispered, answering his own question with a sigh that carried all the weight of his longing.

For a moment, the only sound was the soft clink of silverware and the rustle of leaves in the breeze. Then Jacob spoke again, his voice quieter now, tinged with a hint of regret. "I even miss the stuff that drove me nuts."

Newt's face tightened, his eyes darkening with understanding. He knew exactly what his friend was feeling. The silence stretched, thick with unspoken words, as Jacob's thoughts seemed to drift back in time.

"Like the mind-reading," Jacob chuckled softly, though the sound was tinged with sadness. He shook his head, a faint smile tugging at the corners of his lips, as he thought of Queenie.

Newt's expression mirrored the same sorrow, the kind only a person who had lost someone could truly understand.

Jacob sighed deeply, his voice almost a whisper now. "I was lucky to have someone like her... someone who cared about everything I thought. You know what I mean?"

Newt, caught in his own memories, didn't catch the question right away. He blinked, torn from his thoughts. "Sorry?" he asked, his mind still clouded.

Jacob looked at him in disbelief, but with a slight shake of his head, he shifted the conversation. "I was asking... are you sure the guy we're looking for is here?"

Newt's attention snapped back to the present. He took a steadying breath, his focus now sharp. "Yeah, definitely. The feather says so." He gestured to the glass bowl on the table, where the enchanted feather sat trapped, unable to move any further.

Jacob nodded, his eyes scanning the street again, hoping to catch sight of Yusuf. The weight of their search pressed down on them both, but in the quiet tension, it was clear they were both missing something more than just the task at hand.
