Osamu and Suna glanced at each other before shaking their head.
"Well, ya should know how it works better than anyone else, Mr. Number One Fan. Most of the time, ya won't know [Last name]-san is pissed until her fist is in yer face."
"Pretty creepy how she can change from acting normal to going berserk without giving so much as a hint if you ask me," Suna added, eating an octopus-shaped sausage from his bento.
"Let's not forget that those people ya talk about have addressed her with her first name once and never said her name again." Suna nodded as Atsumu shivered.
[Name] was really far from being a people person.
"Ya guys had a project together once, right? Ya said she was pretty calm and focused the whole time! Maybe she just doesn't like crowds or something."
"She almost punched me in the face three weeks ago because I looked like ya so I'm pretty sure she just doesn't like people in general. I still can't believe she said I looked like an ugly piss-haired bastard." Osamu mumbled the last part. He didn't really care whether or not his twin heard him, he just wanted to finish his second bento in peace so he preferred to avoid a fight.
"How could she think ya were me? I'm much more good-looking!" Osamu glared at him, but said nothing. "Wait. Ya said three weeks ago? When did that happen?" Now, Atsumu was really confused. He doesn't remember her being anywhere near his twin.
"When we passed by the old man's convenience store. She was at the cash register and said my face pissed her off. She would've broken my nose if I hadn't told her ya were my twin, I just know it." Atsumu's jaw almost dropped to the floor.
[Name] was in the convenience store, at the cash register, Osamu talked to her and he didn't know a thing about it up until now?!
"Why didn'tcha tell me she was there?!" Atsumu grabbed his twin's shoulder, shaking him until he felt eyes on him. He flinched upon recognizing the icy feeling of Kita's stare and he immediately let go of Osamu, no questions asked.
Beside the grey-haired boy, Suna snickered, watching as Atsumu pursed his lips, beads of sweat forming on his forehead.
Kita's stare never failed to make anyone uncomfortable, and that effect seemed to be doubled whenever the Miya Twins were the victims of it. It also had for effect to amuse Suna greatly.
"Hey! Miya Atsumu guy!" The cafeteria went silent as the voice of a certain girl rang in the room, the air growing noticeably tense. Everybody stiffened, waiting for something else to happen with both fear and excitement.
Especially the boy whose name was just called. Without him even wanting to, he stood up, his chair scraping against the floor and making enough noise to get her attention.
Her sharp eyes snapped in his direction and he almost flinched under her harsh glare. A few seconds passed, although it felt like hours to him, before she finally moved from her place, slowly walking towards him. Or was she walking normally? Honestly, under the pressure her aura gave him, he couldn't be any less concerned by her pace.
She only stopped when she was right in front of him, their bodies only separated by an inch or so, forcing him to look down a little.
"Follow me," her tone left no room for argument, her voice just as cold as her eyes. Then, she started walking away, not looking anywhere else, but forward as she stepped out of the cafeteria.
Atsumu followed suit, jogging to catch up to her and stay a few feet behind her while she led him to an unknown destination. Suddenly, his mind went back to what Suna said only half an hour ago.
"She isn't goin' to confess to me is she? Sure I saved her, but I don't think she'd be the type to fall for the knight in shining armor. Heh, she's probably more like some assassin in a world like that." He thought to himself, almost chuckling at how fitting it would be.
He was forced out of his thought when something was suddenly shoved into his chest, making him lose his balance for a second. He looked down, blinking a few times before looking back in front of him to find a somewhat annoyed [Name] looking to the side.
He took a hold of the bento box shoved in his chest and her hand retracted immediately. The small note he stuck to the top of the box was still there and it looked exactly like how he left it three weeks ago.
That's when he realized they were behind the school.
"Thanks for helping me out... even though I punched you in the face," the [hair color]-haired girl mumbled, looking at him straight in the eyes as she did so.
She looked calmer now, almost grateful.
"That bastard was about ta force himself on ya. Of course I'd stop him. It's not like I was about ta let ya get assaulted just 'cause ya punched me." She nodded, but didn't look like she actually listened or even heard what he said. "Anyway, ya okay though?" He asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Could've died, but I'll get over it at some point, I think. Whatever, I'm not here for that." She clicked her tongue, as if annoyed that she was even there with him. "My gramps was notified that you were the one to save me, and now he wants you and your family to come over for dinner at our place tonight. See that as his way of thanking you, I guess. The address is in the note and the time too. That's all I wanted to say, see ya."
She started walking away, but stopped for a few seconds, looking back at Atsumu with the calmest expression he's ever seen on her.
"I'm glad you're okay." And with that, she disappeared, leaving him with his mess of a mind. Just what the hell was going on?
***
"Let me get this straight, she came up ta ya during lunch ta apologize and invite us for dinner at her place?" Osamu said slowly, trying to process everything.
He wasn't confused, he just couldn't think of anything else beside the food that would be served.
"Yes...?"
"Dude, don't act like ya don't even understand what's going on yerself. I'm expecting ya ta make me understand." Atsumu sighed.
"I already called mom and dad earlier to tell them and since they were free, all we really have to think about is taking a shower and gettin' dressed."
"Speak for yerself, I'm just thinking about what we'll eat."
"Ya better not embarrass me in front of them. I still wanna be friends with her." That seemed to snap Osamu right out of his thoughts.
"Hah? I should be telling ya that. You're an embarrassment everywhere we go!"
"Says the one who spit food on dad's boss!"
"We were 10! And don't act like ya haven't done anything, mr. I Pissed My Pants At The Store!"
"HUH?!" And with that, they started fighting in the gym again, which ended pretty quickly, thanks to Kita and his terrifying stare.
