For half a second, fear overwhelmed [Name]'s senses. She didn't recognize that voice, and the thought of being attacked again was the first thing that went through her mind. She was not going to be defenseless this time.
She was up and ready to fight in record time, the knife previously tucked away in her pocket drawn. She was ready to strike, to feel the blade go through human flesh if she had to, but she never did.
"Woah, woah, easy there. No need to stab anyone." A boy with dark-brown hair looked at her, putting his hands up to show he was no threat.
Suna Rintaro was no suicidal man, he knew better than to provoke an armed person. Especially if the person looked that scared. Seeing [Last name] [Name] scared was still weird though. For some reason, he thought she couldn't feel fear, that she could scare, but not be scared.
Either way, he didn't move. Having a knife plunged in his guts was not exactly on his bucket list.
"Get down there and on your knees," [Name] barked, the blade in her hand glinting evilly in the sunlight.
Beautiful, yet terrifying.
Just like her.
He jumped from the rain shelter and slowly got on his knees. Clearly, she didn't remember him. He had to find something to trigger her memory before any of them got hurt.
Just then, something came to mind.
"So, you got any news from Osamu after you gave him that love letter?" He smirked a little, trying to play it cool while still avoiding any kind of sudden moves. The girl's face mainly remained the same, except for the tiny flicker in her eyes that Suna somehow managed to catch. She was still on her guard, that was for sure, but she was definitely trying to figure out what he was talking about.
"Good," he thought, "she won't try anything now. Not until she knows what I'm talking about and who I am. At least I hope so." He swallowed the lump in his throat. Just thinking about what could go wrong made him want to make a run for it. If he was lucky enough, maybe he'd manage to go through his front door before her knife went through his body.
He forced a chuckle, trying to look less like a threat for her.
"Come on now, don't you remember the guy you kicked in the knee for stealing your precious love letter?" He could almost hear the gears turn in her head, along with the soft chime of a bell as it clicked in her mind.
She relaxed, straightening as her usual bored expression settled back on her face.
"Oh," she said, "math guy." Suna raised a brow at the nickname, but said nothing. He didn't want to anger her after such an aggressive display on her part. He wondered how the girl in front of him came up with those nicknames though.
"That's a nice knife you got there," he said after a few seconds of silence in which he stood up. [Name]'s eyes fell on the shiny blade still in her hand before shrugging. It wasn't particularly beautiful, just a regular pocket knife.
"If you say so." [Name] was never one for small talk. She'd much rather stay silent if she felt like the conversation would lead to nothing. This was one of them.
On that end at least, Suna could say he was the same to a certain extent. Sometimes though, his curiosity got the best of him. Like right now.
"Aren't you supposed to be at some dinner with the twins?" He sat down near the [eye color]-eyed girl, making sure to leave some space between them. He didn't even flinch as her sharp gaze snapped in his direction. Instead, he slowly turned his head to look at her, staring right back, almost as if taunting her. He caught himself thinking her eyes were beautiful and quickly tucked the thought in a corner of his mind to leave it free. He felt like whatever conversation was coming, no matter how small or how useless it seemed, would take up a lot of space as is, so he wanted to remember it all.
