The Sound Of Silence

Start from the beginning

"Yeah. It makes me sick, particularly when dealing with meats and fish. I've gone vegetarian but my diet becomes unbalanced and I start to struggle with transitioning into carnivores. I actually found a scroll about it in the library. If I'm not careful, I can lose forms."

Harumi let out an "ohhh" of realisation.

"What about baking?"

"Never done it."

She gasped loudly and stopped abruptly before her room, grasping my shoulders.

"You've never baked before?" I shook my head, raising an eyebrow.

"My dad had a noodle restaurant, not a bakery."

"Well then, with this new information, the chefs must let us help with the preparation of dessert!" I sighed, a smile tugging on my lips. "Please, Tay, it'll be fun! All we do around here is read and have lessons with Mother."

She grinned up at me, letting go of my shoulders.

"Alright, if you insist."

"Woo!"

"Shhh- it's like two in the morn..."

Where could Master Wu be?

Ever since Skylor contacted me, telling me that in the last mission, the Ninja went on, Master Wu had disappeared into a time stream, I had been reading for any kind of sign. It's been almost a year now and I swear I've read almost every book in here that would have some clue as to where he'd be and I've still found nothing. It's like all the books before the 3700s have disappeared.

I groaned, shutting the large book and I buried my head in my hands.

"Your Royal Highness, your presence is urgently requested in the conference hall."

My head shot up and one of my handmaidens stood a metre away from the table. I frowned slightly before regaining my composure.

"Thank you, Cynder. Could you please let my grandparents know I'll be there soon? I just need to return this book."

"Oh, there's no need, Princess. Miss Avernston can put it back. The Emperor said it was crucial that you make your way to the conference hall as soon as possible."

I stood from my chair and brushed my kimono. "Right. Thank you again, Cynder."

"Of course, Princess." And Cynder disappeared from my sight. I peered over my shoulder to find Luna nestled amongst a quilt I brought down for her.

"Luna," I called, clicking my fingers. The she-wolf's ear twitched and she lifted her head drowsily. "Sorry."

She let out a huff, stretching before trotting over to me,

"Thanks for disturbing my sleep."

"I said I was sorry. Come, we need to go to the conference hall."

I left the library, Luna hot on my heels.

"Why do I have to come?"

"Because I was urgently requested by my grandfather. The conference room is for outside affairs."

"And?"

"Rumi and I have never been involved in them. This must be important."

"I'm sure it's nothing. Besides, you really shouldn't be trusting Harumi. Just because I don't really understand her doesn't mean I haven't noticed things."

I stopped at the door to the room and looked down at Luna,

"Luna, I've said this before. She's practically my sister. I trust her. I appreciate your concern for my safety but I've been here for over a year now, if she had anything against me, I would've seen the signs."
