"Come on then!" the train worker opened one of the doors after we arrived to our terminus. Platform 9¾. Right away, rest of the doors of the Hogwarts Express flung open and everyone stepped out of them, followed by cheerful chatter, suitcase's wheels hitting the ground and rolling against it, people greeting their parents and siblings that came to pick them up through the soft smoke. "Hi, sweety!", "Hello, love!", "Ahww, I missed you so much!", can be heard all around. It's quite a hassle all around the station. Everywhere I look, there are either people hugging their families to say a hello, or students hugging each other to say a goodbye for the summer. Some of the seventh years are crying because this was their last time here. "I'm gonna miss you so much!" one girl cried to her friend. "I'm gonna miss you too! But we'll write, alright? Every week!" the friend tried to consult through her own tears.

Somehow seeing all of this from aside as I keep on walking with my own suitcase makes me feel emotional too. But that soon cuts off when Tonks runs past me and flashes a big smile over her shoulder:"See you in September, (Y/N)!!". "Bye, Tonks!" I waved back and watch her reuniting with her parents. Without even realizing it myself, I stopped walking and just watch their interaction from a far. They look so happy and proud to see her. All those smiles and the warmth oozing from them. It's almost palpable. However, they leave quite quickly out of the sight as more people kept on coming. My attention drawns to Lockhart, who gets a warm greeting by his mother with open arms. Lockhart gives her a quick hug, but soon casually shoo her to take a step back, so his perfect curls won't get flattened.

Suddenly, I feel this gentle touch on the small of my back that pushes me to go forward. "Keep moving, badger." Severus's deep, monotonic voice can be heard behind me as he guides us more secure place where there are not as many people walking. "Oh, sorry." I won't hesitate and just follow his lead. After the train had stopped and we all got out of the carriages, him and I got separated. But it looks like he spot me quite quickly after getting off the train a minute or two later through all of these people. For a moment longer, we both watch as the families keeps walking by or run to hug their loved ones. "So, uh... Is anyone picking you up?" I asked. "My mother." he reply. "Ah. Guess she hasn't arrived yet then?" I look around, try to see if there's anyone that could look like Severus's parent. "Well noted." he teased. "Hmph." I snorted sharply.

My mother is coming to pick me up as well, and she'll be waiting on the other side - side of the King's Cross. Since the train arrived ten minutes earlier, I still got some time to just be and take this all in. Luckily. I'm in no hurry to get back in the reality for the next two months. Two months... I look up to Severus as he keeps standing beside me, watching all of these people coming and going. Why does it feel such a long time? I wished to talk some more with him, but... Think I already bored him with all the questions what is he going to do during the summer and such when we traveled over here. As expected, didn't get much out of him. So I keep quiet and just try to enjoy the moment while it still lasts.

But soon, Severus's gaze gets locked in as he just spotted his mother further away. I take a look at him before looking at the same direction as he is and I can see her. Well, not quite. There are far too many people hassling around. But all I can tell she's quite thin and hair as dark as Severus's. She hasn't noticed her son yet as she keeps darting with her gaze around the station. "Guess... This is where we go separate ways." I smile to hide the disappointment. "Yes." he reply. Then, he turned to look at me, clearly wishing to say something, but ends up saying:"Goodbye, badger.". Right away, as soon as he took a step away from me, I leaned forward with worried expression:"Wait..-!". Severus stops on tracks and waits for me to say what's on my mind. Don't know what got into me, but somehow him just leaving like that feels a bit off. No? After everything we've gone through this year.
