RESEARCH TOPIC: Burst Abilities

Ever since the dawn of the First Rapture Invasion and the creation of the first Nikke, the Prototype Grimms model Lilliweiss, to the dusk of the latest generation of combat Nikkes produced, the general formula has not been changed.

Although there have been many alternations through the decades, such as to the body and the code that forms the NIMPH, the process of how a core is created and its functionality has yet to evolve.

A Nikke's core acts as the body's source of energy throughout combat and day-to-day tasks. It is akin to a battery, as it can be depleted and replenished. The way that it can be replenished is either by resting the body, or charging through manual means (i.e. Funneling electricity straight to it).

When not in combat, the core enters a dormant state to save energy, in turn enabling the Nikke to hang on to additional power, which it can use to benefit during operations.

Though, when engaging with enemy units, the core will activate through signals from the brain itself. Once active, the core will produce high energy levels, but with the negative effect of exhausting itself.

While this may be general information, there is quite a lot more to it.

There are multiple types of cores that are produced. For simplicity, we have decided to name them by numerals.

Core I, Core II, and Core III.

They may not look different in appearance, but their components vary in various ways. For example, Core I's are generally support units, aiding the squad by increasing core output.

Core II's are defensive units, able to take more enemy attacks than the others, and are generally less prone to go down during encounters.

And Core III's are offensive units. While not as tough as Core II's, they are significantly stronger in both physical and armed strength.

If a team is composed of all three types of units, no matter which faction they belong to, at some point during combat their cores will synchronize with one another, resulting in a phenomenon called Full Burst.
