Outside was a pouring mess. Rain pierced through the clouds and flooded the streets of our hometown. Cars rung past, back and forth in an attempt to see shelter from the aerial assault.

On the sidewalk, trekking at a casual speed, under the protection of two umbrellas, were me and my sister side by side.

''... What was that?'' I threw a glance at her as I walked. ''Couldn't hear a lot of... Anything. The rain's really loud.''

Milour sighed, closing her umbrella shortly after. She ran up to me and got under mine, hugging me in the process. I was confused on why she would...

''If you do something bad, would something bad happen back to you?'' She asked again, now closer to me, more audible. ''Would people get what they deserve?''

''What?'' I stop in place and look at her. ''Why's this relevant again? Did something happen?''

''... You think?'' She pressed forward. ''I just want your opinion, nothing more.''

''Well, I like to think that it exists.'' I start walking again. ''If it didn't... Well, I would lose faith in the world. I'm sure a lot of people would.''

''It may not hit them the same day they begin to deserve it, the next day, or the one after that. We may not even get to see it.'' I continue, occasionally looking at her to see if she's listening. ''But it will hit them, for sure.''

''...'' Milour sighed, shaking her head. ''You say that, but you know nothing is concrete.''
