''Bleh!'' Laplace spat out the last bit of saliva stuck in her throat, on the ground. ''Haa...'' She panted, knees and palms planted on the soil.
''All good now?'' Drake crouched down next to her. ''Did you try the method of stuffing your fingers down your throat? Heard that works very well in making someone vomit.''
''N-No! What if I end up swallowing my fingers?'' The blonde replied, shaking her hand and standing up. ''At least it's a bit more bearable now... Barely...''
...?
''What's going on over here?'' I approached the duo, prompting a look from both of them.
''The moron's having a stomachache,'' Drake answered, motioning to Laplace. ''I told her vomiting would help. I bet it's those expired sushi rolls she ate yesterd-''
''I told you they aren't expired! They were well up to date! You just don't like the smell of it!'' Laplace threw her head up and glared at Drake. ''And I'm fine! Nothing a hero can't handle!''
''...'' Drake quietly glanced at me and whispered, ''Just so you know, she was crying about it until you came-''
''Liar!'' Laplace grunted. ''Don't listen to her, Birdie! Or you'll be infected with her lies- Urgh!'' She went numb, rolling herself into a ball and clutching her stomach.
My eyes widened, and I got down on my knees in front of her. ''Laplace?!'' I shouted, nudging and shaking her. ''Hey! What's wrong?''
Laplace shook at my touch as she rolled around the ground. ''U-Ugh... I'm so sorry, Birdie... But this stomachache is really really bad...''
''...'' I narrowed my eyes at her as she looked at me with a meek smile. ''... Are you uhh... Fine?''
''Y-Yep! Definitely am...'' She took a deep breath before coming back to her feet. She was trembling, sweating, and red in the face.
Obviously, there was something wrong. But her pride and ego as the strongest, most righteous hero in the world would make it hard for me to ask her about it.
''Perhaps this could be related to her no longer possessing NIMPH?'' Lilith speculated. ''She looks a tad bit nervous.''
Maybe...
I'll talk to her after we get to the first point, for now, we just need to get inside the radio tower and set off the signal. Draw as many Raptures away from the Ark as possible.
I hope the rest can stay out of view of the drones so as to not be broadcast.
I tried to help Laplace pick herself off the floor, but she refused my help. She stood up straight and fixed her jacket, pulling up her hood once more and laughing the entire situation off as she dusted herself.
''See! Nothing's left of it! I've defeated foes far stronger than stomach cramps can wish to become!'' She trotted past me and marched towards the rendezvous point. ''Come on! We have a mission to do!''
''Tch! You were just rolling around the ground like a pig in a stable and now you're suddenly feeling better?'' Drake scoffed. ''Making me feel worried for nothing! And I thought I was the villain!''
''You were feeling worried?'' A sly smirk came up to my face as I put a hand on her shoulder. ''For reals?''
