Chapter XV

"I'm just kidding! We're done for the day already, right Oppa?" I ask.

"Yes. You're really different these days." I smiled more. He look over to unnie. "Did she find herself a lover? That's the only thing I can think of that can change her." Unnie and I look at each other. "You did." Oppa laughs.

"We can trust you, right?" Unnie asks.

"When did I ever let out a word about this girl?" Never. He ruffled my hair. "This guy must've got that courage in him to be able to even approach you." She's not a guy and she didn't need courage to have me. She just needed to realize everything that we already have between us.

I fix my hair and give him a glare.

"I've known you for years now. That glare won't work on me." He said. "Will you head out now?"

"She's been dying to talk to her partner already." Unnie said. Oppa laughs. For sure, the teasings gonna get worse now.

"I didn't know you were the clingy type. It doesn't show." He crossed his arms.

"Unni confiscated my phone the whole taping, I haven't got an update since yesterday. Think about not being able to be in cotact with your wife for a day" I try to prove my point in this.

"Oh! I get you now." Oppa said.

"See!" I said pointing out how Oppa is on my side on this one.

"Since the taping's done give her her phone back. We don't want this happy Irene to vanish quickly, this aura needs to stay throughout our filming." I smiled when I saw unnie got my phone out from her jacket. I quickly grab it when she handed it over to me.

"Thank you!" I said and look down my phone.

"This is why I took it from her." I heard unnie said but I didn't mind her anymore. Works done already, I did good, nothing to worry about. "Some might find her smile and sudden giggles weird, considering she never does that on set before."

"Yaah unnie!" I said.

"It's true."

"Just let her be." Oppa said. "This is better and we need to keep this up while working with the opposite team now." My smile drop at the mention. Oppa held both my arms and made me look at him. "You're an amazing actress, Irene..."

"I'll fake it 'til we make it." I finish up. He nodded at that.

"Good. I'll go talk to everyone now and tell them you said no."

"Thank you for understanding, Oppa" I said.

"Anytime." Oppa then went back to wher his team is.

"Good thing he's the director." unnie said that made me chuckle. She's right, because if it where someone else? It would've been in chaos now.

After packing up our things and saying goodbye to everyone, unnie and I left the set already.

I asked to unnie to drive me straight to Seulgi's place. She's not replying to my texts yet. Maybe she's still busy.

"Contact me if you ever need something." I nodded and removed my seatbelt. "Your cap." She reminded me, before opening the car door. I almost forgot.

I got the cap and wear it. I sighed.

"Thank you unnie." I said before going out of the car.

I run to the entrance and never look up. This has been a thing already, every time one of us go to each other's places.

I went straight to the elevator. As it was about to close already, someone shouted.

"Wait!" The voice made me look up. It was Seulgi running her way to the elevator.

Someone stopped the elevator from closing to wait for her.

"Thank you." She said, catching her breath.

"You know, you didn't have to run." The person told Seulgi. I look down again. There's a possibility I might be recognize.

"I just don't want to wait for the other elevator anymore." She explains. Oh, she knows the guy we're with now.

"Did you get the Bam's invite?" Bam?

"Invite?" She questioned.

"He said, he already sent you an invite." Who is this guy?

"Sorry my phone's dead since this morning. Maybe he did, I just haven't seen it yet. Is that why you're here?" That's why.

"Yes. About the invite, it's just a small gathering. What do you say?"

"I--" she suddenly paused that made me look up a little again. My eyes met hers. "I think I might have pass on this one. I'm tired." she said that made me form a smirk on my face.

The elevator door opened up. I look up and see it was Seulgi's floor already.

"Excuse." I said and walk out of the elevator first.

"I'll see around, Jae." Seulgi said then I hear her running her way closer to me. "Hyun!" I felt her hold my hand.

"I thought your break starts tomorrow?"

"We finished early."

We arrived at her front door. I pressed the code. As soon as we were inside she pulled me in for an embrace.

"I've missed you." She whispered.

"me too." I patted her back. "So much." She pulled away.

"How was you shoot?" I heaved out a sigh, she laughs. "Tiring?" I nodded.

"But it's fine. This will be the last, so I'll just maybe make the most of it." I said.

"Are you really sure about quiting already?" She asks this question again.

"I am." really sure.

"Since you don't want to be an actress anymore..." She started. What is she up to? "I have a work proposal." Huh? She held my hand and guide me over to the couch. I just watch her bring out something from her bag.

She give me a sheets of paper with lyrics on it. There are two song titles.

"Monster. Naughty." I read.

"Sing those songs with me." WHAT?!? "Or you can pick just one from the two." she give me a hopeful gaze. I put down the sheets on the coffee table.

"Seulgi..."

"Hyun, I want my last work to be with you." she looks down. I see her nervously playing with her fingers.

"What do you mean last, Seulgi?" I firmly asks.

"I want to quit the industry too."

"You don't." I said. "Seulgi, have you seen yourself on stage?" I ask in disbelief. "You love performing."

"But if it means I need to hide you, to be able to keep doing it? I'd prefer to just quit. I want to date you freely, Hyun."

"Listen to me Seulgi." I cup her face and made her look up to me. "There are other ways. You don't need to quit for us to date publicly."

"That's why I'm asking you to sing those songs with me." She said.

I look over to the said songs.

"To test the water." I look at her again. She look so determined.

"How are we going to do this?" I ask. Her lips slowly formed a smile. "Your company?" Right now she have this smirk on her face already. "Kang Seulgi, what are you really planning?"

"I'm planning to correct everything that's been wronged." I scoff and poke her nose.

"Okay, let me hear this plan of yours."

Her idea isn't actually that bad. A collab would test people's reaction on us. That's why maybe it got my interest too.
