Seina awoke to the spinning of the room, her head pounding with a dull, relentless ache. Her mouth was dry, and the cool sweat on her forehead sent a chill through her skin. Her heart was racing, thumping so hard it felt as though it might burst from her chest. She sat up, gripping the sheets to steady herself, but the world around her kept shifting in dizzying circles.
Hatter was already up, pacing around the room like a caged lion, his ever-present smirk playing on his lips. He tossed her a glass of water with a flourish.
"Drink up," he said, his tone light but with a hint of amusement. "You look like you could use it."
"Gee, thanks for the concern," she muttered, her voice still rough from sleep. "What time is it?"
"Time to get yourself together," Hatter replied, clapping his hands together. "I'm introducing you to the executives this afternoon."
"Executives?" Seina echoed, raising an eyebrow. "And what they lead, a group of 40-50 drunk people?" She chuckled, trying to shake off her hangover as she swung her legs over the side of the bed.
Hatter chuckled along with her. "You really knocked yourself out last night," he said, shaking his head. "Don't you remember? I told you. This is a sanctuary, our utopia, a place where everyone collects cards to have the first escape from this country. A place where we unite."
Seina's eyes widened as the fog in her mind began to clear. The weight of his words settled over her, and she realized the gravity of the situation she had stumbled into.
"Right," she said, her voice tinged with sarcasm, tried to mask her uneasy feelings. "A sanctuary. Because that's exactly what I need right now." She stood up, wobbling slightly, and made her way to the bathroom to wash her face.
Meanwhile, Hatter stood by the window, watching her reflection in the mirror. He couldn't help but be intrigued by her chaotic energy that seemed to defy any attempt at understanding. There was something about her that was both maddening and captivating.
Seina shot him a playful grin as she emerged from the bathroom, her earlier disorientation replaced by a spark of mischief.
"Lead the way, Captain," she quipped, her tone light but with an edge of challenge. Hatter chuckled, his eyes gleaming with interest.

Later that day, Hatter motioned for Seina to enter his room. Seina strode in, her gaze flicking over the people inside. By the window a woman stood, her arms crossed. A man with piercings sat at the table, running a cloth over the barrel of his gun, his smirk barely concealed. Aguni stood rigidly in the corner, his usual silent, brooding presence filling the space.
