"Shadow, I'm fine, I promise-" my voice still shaky from the hit by Thorn. 

"I said no." His voice was firm and cutthroat, this to him was not up for negotiation at all. He had grabbed ahold of my wrists rather tightly, tugging me closer to him.

I haven't had anyone to dictate my life in quite some time and I was not going to let Shadow hold me back. Everything I've been through for these shatter spaces, each person's world has been on my shoulders. My own included.

"Who are YOU to tell me what I can or cannot do, this is my job, my destiny. I must do all in my power to fix this mess with Sonic, even if- even if it kills me." I know I sounded so uncertain at the end.

I pull my wrists from his grasp once the tension had lessened ever so slightly.

I needed to get my point across, so even though Shadow is intimidating, I stand up and face him, looking up at him with stern eyes.

His demeanor was fierce, and he was not willing to back down, he let my words echo for a moment before squinting his eyes ever so slightly. His fists were balled up and I could see that what I said hit home.

"You just don't understand." His voice gruff.

"You just met me only a day ago, you don't know me and what I've been through!" I yell at him, which to my surprise doesn't phase him at all.

"Then tell me."

"I- it happened many years ago Shadow.." Tears threaten to spill from the eyes, my confidence to stand up to him faltering.

"I'm a good listener, I want to understand you Y/N. You don't have to be alone anymore." Shadow reaches out again, before pulling back with a soft smile.

"Okay.. believe it or not, these shatter spaces have always been here, long since the paradox prism has existed. One of these shatter spaces, was my home- the Crystal Sands."

BOOM 

The four of us gasp before we all turn to see what may be going on, a dark cloud fills the sky, my sister and Cotton push me behind them, standing guard right in front of me. 

My bright purple eyes glance over to meet Ember's orange eyes, his expression filled with uncertainty as he fiddled with the gadget in his hands. 

"Ember, any idea what's going on here?!" Star and Cotton share a glance, before turning to face the two of us.

"I- I'm working on it Star, these readings are off the charts and the power level is- nothing we have seen before." Ember continued to punch in different codes and numbers in his device, all while brushing some fur behind his ears.

"Sissy?" I look to the sky, the cloud growing by the second, distorted faces shape the clouds, rainbow lightning can be seen plummeting through the clouds, and not long after I spoke, the wind began to pick up as well.

BOOM

I feel my fear levels rising, Cotton quickly swoops me from the ground, and before I knew it, something was coming right for us, everyone began running. We were all decently fast, me being the youngest, I would have held them back. 

"C'MON FASTER GUYS!" Ember yells to Star and Cotton, he was using his tail to give him more of a speed boost. The sounds of explosions grew more frequent and kept getting closer.
