It was a significant day, one that would mark a turning point in all their lives. The members of what would become BTS were seated in a quiet conference room at BigHit Entertainment, facing Bang Si-hyuk. The air was heavy with anticipation as they waited to hear what he had to say.

Bang Si-hyuk leaned forward, his expression serious yet encouraging. “You’ve all been working hard, and I’m proud of the progress you’ve made. But before we move forward, I want each of you to think about something very carefully. Do you want to debut as a group or pursue solo careers? This decision will shape the rest of your journey.”

The room fell silent. The question wasn’t entirely unexpected, but hearing it out loud made it real. Each member looked thoughtful, their expressions reflecting their individual struggles and dreams.

Namjoon, however, didn’t hesitate for even a second. He raised his hand slightly and spoke with conviction. “I choose BTS. I believe in this group, and I believe in all of us together. We’re stronger as a team than we could ever be alone.”

Jin, sitting beside him, glanced at Namjoon and felt a wave of pride. The younger boy’s confidence and belief in their shared dream were undeniable. Despite being the eldest, Jin had always admired Namjoon’s ability to lead and inspire others.

Bang Si-hyuk nodded, impressed by Namjoon’s immediate response. “That’s a strong statement, Namjoon. But every group needs a leader. Someone who can guide and unify the team. Do you think you can take on that responsibility?”

Namjoon hesitated this time, not because he doubted his ability, but because he didn’t want to assume a role that someone else might want. “If the team thinks I can, I’ll do my best. But I don’t want to take away the opportunity from anyone else.”

Before anyone else could speak, Jin raised his hand slightly, drawing everyone’s attention. His voice was calm yet firm. “I think Namjoon is the best choice to be our leader.”

The room turned to Jin in surprise, but he continued with a steady gaze. “He’s the one who keeps us motivated. He always knows what to say when we’re struggling, and he works harder than anyone else to bring out the best in all of us. I may be older, but being a leader isn’t about age—it’s about heart, vision, and dedication. And Namjoon has all of those qualities.”

The others nodded in agreement. Yoongi added, “He’s already been guiding us in a lot of ways. I think he’s the right choice.”

Hoseok smiled brightly. “Namjoon-ah, you’ve got the patience and the passion. You’re already like a leader to us.”

Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook echoed their support, each expressing how much they trusted and respected Namjoon.

Namjoon was visibly moved by their words. He rubbed the back of his neck, a nervous habit, and gave a small, humble smile. “Thank you, everyone. I promise I won’t let you down.”

Bang Si-hyuk observed the interaction quietly, a satisfied smile tugging at his lips. This wasn’t just a group—it was already shaping up to be a family.

“Then it’s decided,” Bang Si-hyuk announced. “Namjoon will be the leader of BTS. And as a group, you’ll go farther than any of you could on your own. Remember this moment, because it’s the foundation of everything you’ll build together.”

Jin gave Namjoon a reassuring pat on the back. “We’re all here because we believe in this. And we believe in you. You’ve got this, Namjoon.”

That night, as the members returned to their dorm, there was a sense of unity among them that hadn’t been there before. They weren’t just trainees anymore—they were a team.
