Kim family pov
The grand engagement venue shimmered under the golden lights, decorated elegantly with soft florals and warm hues. The Kim family entered gracefully, their presence immediately drawing the attention of some guests. They moved together, their unity evident in their composed expressions.
But as their eyes scanned the room, they froze.
There, standing amidst the guests, were the members of BTS.
A wave of unspoken tension passed between them. The elders of the Kim family exchanged subtle glances, their poised demeanor betraying a flicker of discomfort. They hadn’t expected to see them here.
And then, realization struck—
Namjoon.
The groom was Kim Namjoon.
For a brief moment, the air felt suffocating. The weight of past betrayals, unspoken words, and the deep wounds Jin carried in silence threatened to surface. The family had stayed away from BTS, had never once sought them out, knowing the pain they had caused Jin—especially Jungkook.
It would have been easy to turn around and leave. But they couldn’t.
Not when Minji was the bride.
Minji was like family. A kind-hearted girl who had never been anything but supportive. If they left, it would hurt her—this was her special day, and they wouldn’t ruin it.
Instead, they stood still for a moment, adjusting their emotions, burying everything deep inside.
When Jin finally arrived, the atmosphere grew heavier. His family looked at him, silently seeking direction. He had seen BTS, seen him, but his expression didn’t waver. His eyes were unreadable.
In a voice steady yet cold, Jin spoke, “Act normal.”
That was all he said, but they understood.
And so, the elders of the Kim family did what they did best.
They carried themselves with grace, their faces unreadable, their words polite yet distant.
The engagement function of Minji and Namjoon concluded with warmth and joy. Guests lingered, sharing laughter and taking photographs to commemorate the evening. As the crowd began to disperse, Minji, glowing with happiness, clasped Namjoon’s hand and whispered, “Come with me. There’s someone you absolutely have to meet.”
Namjoon raised an eyebrow, curious, but allowed Minji to guide him through the gathering. She led him toward a group that stood slightly apart—a family radiating both elegance and warmth.
As they approached, Namjoon saw Jin. His breath hitched, his mind racing with countless questions. But he quickly masked, not wanting to disrupt the atmosphere or Minji’s happiness.
“Namjoon, meet J oppa and his family,” Minji said with a smile, gesturing toward Jin and the others. “They’re like family to me. They’ve been such an important part of my life.”
Jin stepped forward, his expression calm and collected, extending a hand toward Namjoon. “Kim Seokjin,” he introduced himself with confidence, his tone polite yet distant. “It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
Namjoon shook his hand, feeling the weight of unspoken words in the air. “Kim Namjoon,” he replied, his voice steady despite the whirlwind of emotions inside him. “Congratulations on the engagement,” Jin added smoothly, his formal demeanor unshaken.
Minji, oblivious to the tension, beamed. She turned to the two little ones standing close to Jin. “And these cuties are Jiho and Jiwon.”
Jiho, ever the bold one, stepped forward with a bright smile. “Hello, Namjoon samchon! I’m Jiho!”
