The next morning, the warm sunlight streamed through the windows of the Kim family villa, casting a golden glow over the spacious living area. Jiho and Jiwon were already up and buzzing with excitement, their voices echoing through the hall as they discussed their plans for the day.
"Appa!" Jiwon called out, running to Jin with a bright smile. "Today is our special day! Can we go somewhere fun?"
Jiho, carrying his sketchpad and colored pencils, chimed in calmly. "I want to go somewhere with a good view. I need inspiration for my drawings."
Jin chuckled at their enthusiasm. "Alright, alright. Since it's your one day a month, how about we go fishing? There's a beautiful lake nearby, and the scenery is perfect for sketching, Jiho."
"Yes!" Jiwon cheered, raising her hands in excitement.
Seokjoon overheard the conversation and stepped in with his two boys, Sanghyun and Minjae. "Fishing sounds like a great idea. The boys have been wanting to go, too. Let's make it a family outing."
With everyone in agreement, they packed their fishing gear, snacks, and Jiho's art supplies before heading to the family yacht anchored nearby. The kids were thrilled as they boarded the luxurious vessel, with Jiwon running to the front deck to feel the wind on her face.
As the boat cruised to the lake, Jiho set up his sketchpad on a small table, his sharp eyes scanning the scenery for inspiration. Jiwon, on the other hand, was already asking Jin to help her set up her fishing rod.
"Appa, show me how to catch a big fish!" she exclaimed, her eyes sparkling.
Jin knelt beside her, patiently explaining how to hold the rod and cast the line. "It's all about patience, Jiwon-ah. The fish won't come right away, but if you wait, you'll get one."
Seokjoon, meanwhile, was helping Sanghyun and Minjae with their rods. The boys were just as eager as Jiwon, but their methods were less precise, resulting in a lot of laughter and tangled lines.
Jiho occasionally glanced up from his sketchpad, observing the lively interactions around him. He smiled softly as he captured the scene in his drawing, adding tiny details like the sunlight reflecting on the water and the joy on Jiwon's face as she waited for a bite.
"Jiho, aren't you going to try fishing?" Jin asked, walking over to his son.
Jiho shook his head, his pencil moving gracefully across the page. "Not today, Appa. I want to draw this moment instead. It's perfect."
Jin ruffled Jiho's hair affectionately. "Alright, artist-nim. Just don't forget to take a break and enjoy yourself, too."
The day went on with bursts of excitement whenever someone caught a fish. Jiwon managed to reel in a small one, jumping up and down in delight as Jin helped her release it back into the water.
"I did it, Appa!" she squealed.
"You're amazing, Jiwon-ah," Jin praised, giving her a high-five.
Sanghyun and Minjae also caught a few fish, cheering loudly each time. Jiho finished his sketch and joined them briefly to admire their catches before returning to his peaceful spot.
By the time the sun began to set, the lake was bathed in hues of orange and pink, creating a serene and picturesque scene. Jiho captured the sunset in his final sketch of the day, while Jiwon sat beside Jin, resting her head on his arm.
"Appa, this was the best day as ever," she whispered, her voice filled with contentment.
Jin smiled, wrapping an arm around her. "I'm glad, Jiwon-ah. Days like this are precious."
