The Room of Requirement was eerily quiet after Harry and Susan finished explaining everything. The prophecy, Dumbledore's manipulations, Voldemort's looming threat—it all hung heavy in the air like a storm waiting to break.
Lettie leaned back against one of the old dueling chamber's stone walls, arms crossed, her moss-green eyes sharp with thought. Theo sat beside her, tapping his fingers rhythmically against his knee, his expression unreadable.
Fred and George exchanged a glance, their usual lightheartedness absent.
Even Luna, typically lost in her own whimsical thoughts, seemed unusually focused.
"So... you either kill him," Theo finally spoke, his voice cool, measured, "or he kills you."
Harry nodded stiffly.
"Well, that's absolute shite."A quiet chuckle escaped Susan despite the tension.
"Agreed," Lettie said, pushing herself off the wall. "But we're not just going to sit here and let this prophecy dictate anything. You have us, Harry."
Fred clapped a firm hand on Harry's shoulder. "Yeah, mate. We're not letting you go through this alone."
George smirked. "And if Dumbledore thinks we're just gonna let him move you around like a pawn, he clearly doesn't know how bad we are at following rules."
A slow, genuine smile tugged at Harry's lips. He wasn't alone in this.
The Great Hall was a blur of chatter and celebration. The Seventh Years sat proudly at the front tables, Hogwarts robes pressed and pristine for the last time. The twins, in particular, looked extra smug as they received their diplomas.
"We're finally free!" George announced dramatically, waving his diploma around like a victory flag.
Fred grinned. "No more exams, no more homework—"
"No more McGonagall breathing down our necks," George added.
"No more Snape trying to kill us with his eyes."
"And no more Umbridge."
A small round of applause followed that statement.
Lettie smirked from her spot next to Fred. "That last part is thanks to me, you know."
Fred turned to her with an exaggerated look of admiration. "Merlin's beard, you're right. The love of my life saved us all from that toad."
She raised an eyebrow. "Love of your life, am I?"
Fred winked. "Too soon?"
Lettie pretended to consider. "Not at all."
His grin softened as he reached for her hand under the table, lacing their fingers together. The warmth of his palm against hers made her heart skip a beat.
The castle felt different on the last night. Emptier, somehow.
Lettie and Fred sat by the Black Lake, the stars reflecting off the dark water like shattered diamonds. A warm summer breeze drifted through the air, carrying the sounds of the castle behind them.
Fred exhaled, rubbing the back of his neck. "Feels weird, leaving Hogwarts."
Lettie glanced at him, tilting her head. "You're not having second thoughts about your great escape, are you?"
He snorted. "No chance. George and I have been planning Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes for ages. But it's still... strange. This place has been home for seven years."
She squeezed his hand. "You're going to do brilliantly."
He turned his head to look at her, his brown eyes searching hers in the moonlight. "You know, I never really thought about life after Hogwarts until you came along."
Lettie raised an eyebrow. "Oh?"
Fred smirked. "I mean, sure, George and I had plans, but now it's different. Now I've got you." His voice was quieter now, more serious. "And I don't think I ever want to be without you."
Her heart pounded at his words. "You won't be," she promised.
Fred leaned in, his hand cupping the side of her face, his thumb brushing against her cheek. "Good."
Then he kissed her—slow, deep, and certain.
Lettie melted into him, fingers tangling in his hair as the world faded away.
Theo stood in the entrance hall, his trunk by his side, his expression carefully neutral. He glanced towards the carriages waiting to take students to the Hogwarts Express, then back at Lettie.
"Are you sure about this?" she asked, crossing her arms.
Theo exhaled. "I'm not going back home, Lettie. My father—he'll expect me to join his side. I won't do it."
Lettie studied him carefully. "Then come home with me."
His lips quirked up slightly. "Thought you'd never ask."
She smirked. "The Selwyns don't abandon their own."
Theo nodded, relief flickering in his usually guarded expression. "Then I guess I'm a Selwyn now."
