The sun shone brightly over the Selwyn estate as Sirius, Harry, and Susan prepared to depart for their summer trip to Greece with Amelia Bones. Their trunks were packed, and the Portkey—a small, enchanted seashell—sat on the grand foyer table, ready to whisk them away.
Sirius was in high spirits, excited for a well-deserved vacation after months of stress. "Sun, sea, and not a single Ministry meeting in sight—exactly what I need," he declared, slinging an arm around Harry.
"You just want an excuse to flirt with Greek witches," Harry teased.
Sirius smirked. "Can you blame me?"
Susan laughed while Amelia rolled her eyes. "Let's just hope we all make it back in one piece," she said dryly.
Lettie stood beside Fred, watching as Harry adjusted his robes. "Enjoy your vacation, Potter. Try not to get into trouble."
Harry grinned. "No promises."
Fred draped an arm around Lettie's shoulders, giving Harry a cheeky grin.
"We'll keep her entertained while you're gone.""You mean you'll snog her senseless while I'm gone," Harry shot back.
Lettie gasped. "Potter!"
Fred, entirely unashamed, just laughed. "He's not wrong."
Before she could retort, the Portkey activated, and with a flash of light, the Bones and Potter-Black family disappeared.
A few days later, Lettie received an invitation—or rather, a summons—from Fred and George to visit the Burrow and meet their family. She had been excited at first, eager to finally see the home that had shaped Fred into the person she loved.
The Burrow was exactly how Fred had described it—cozy, warm, and filled with an unmistakable sense of home.
Lettie had barely stepped through the door before she was pulled into the whirlwind that was the Weasley family.
Bill and Charlie, who were both visiting for the summer, immediately took an interest in her.
"So, you're the girl Fred won't shut up about?" Charlie grinned, leaning against the kitchen counter.
Fred groaned. "Merlin, not you lot too—"
Bill smirked, shaking Lettie's hand.
"You must be special if you managed to keep him interested for longer than a week."Lettie smirked back. "I'd say he's the lucky one."
"Oh, I like her," Charlie said, nudging Fred with his elbow.
Percy, surprisingly, was polite and cordial. "It's good to meet you, Miss Selwyn. I trust your family is doing well?"
Lettie nodded. "They are. Thank you, Percy."
Ron was hesitant at first but warmed up quickly, especially after Lettie casually mentioned beating Draco Malfoy in several exams. That seemed to win him over instantly.
Everything was going well—until Molly and Ginny entered the room.
Molly's eyes swept over Lettie, and though her smile was polite, there was an unmistakable tightness around her mouth. "It's... nice to meet you, dear."
Lettie, sensing the tension, kept her expression neutral. "Likewise, Mrs. Weasley."
Ginny, however, didn't bother hiding her distaste. "So, what's the deal?" she asked, arms crossed. "You're really dating Fred?"
Fred frowned. "Ginny—"
"I just don't see how it makes sense," Ginny continued, ignoring him. "You're a Slytherin. Your family's rich. What do you even have in common with Fred?"
Lettie gave her a cool look. "Apparently enough to make him fall for me."
Charlie let out a low whistle while George snickered under his breath.
Ginny scowled. "I just don't get it."
"You don't have to," Lettie said simply.
Molly cleared her throat, trying to change the subject. "Well, dear, do you even know how to cook? Or clean without magic?"
Fred groaned. "Mum, seriously?"
Lettie, however, didn't miss a beat. "I may not be the best cook, but I know how to handle a cursed dagger, break ancient wards, and duel with both wands and swords." She smiled sweetly. "Does that count?"
Bill laughed. "I think that counts."
Molly pursed her lips but said nothing more.
Later in the afternoon, Hermione arrived, and while she greeted everyone warmly, her demeanor changed the moment she turned to Lettie.
They had always had a tense, competitive dynamic at Hogwarts—two of the brightest students in their year, often on opposite sides of debates. But now, it felt personal.
"So, you and Fred are really dating?"
Hermione asked, much like Ginny had.Lettie arched an eyebrow. "Yes, Granger. For a while now."
Hermione folded her arms. "I just don't understand how this happened."
Fred groaned. "Why does everyone act like Lettie's some impossible creature?"
Hermione ignored him. "I suppose I'm just worried about Harry."
Lettie's expression cooled. "And why would my relationship with Fred have anything to do with Harry?"
Hermione hesitated. "Harry has been through a lot. He doesn't need distractions."
Lettie's patience thinned. "So, I'm a distraction now?"
"That's not what I meant—"
"Then what do you mean?" Lettie challenged.
Hermione exhaled sharply. "I just... don't trust easily."
Lettie's green eyes didn't waver. "Then maybe you should work on that."
The conversation ended there, but the tension remained.
As the day went on, Lettie was painfully aware of the divided reactions around her—the Weasley men welcomed her warmly, but Molly, Ginny, and Hermione?
They were another story entirely.
