The oppressive weight of Voldemort's presence hung in the air, thick and suffocating. He stood at the center of the ruined alley, his crimson eyes alight with malice, his wand raised.
For a moment, everything was still.
Then—BOOM!
A sudden explosion shook the street as reinforcements arrived. Aurors, members of the Order of the Phoenix, and even shopkeepers and bystanders who refused to cower any longer surged forward, wands raised.
The battle reignited with renewed ferocity.
George and Tracey fought back-to-back, their movements in perfect sync.
Alecto Carrow sneered. "A blood traitor and a half-blood, how cute."
Tracey smiled sweetly. "We prefer dangerous."
"Petrificus Totalus!" George shot a spell at Amycus, who dodged, retaliating with a Cruciatus Curse. George barely ducked in time.
Tracey's wand flicked through the air. "Bombarda!"
The force of her spell sent Alecto flying into a pile of rubble.
Amycus snarled and turned his wand on her. "Avada—"
George stunned him mid-sentence, sending the Death Eater crumpling to the ground.
George smirked. "You were saying?"
Tracey brushed off her robes.
"Honestly, that was disappointing."
George grinned. "Guess they don't make Death Eaters like they used to."
Nearby, Remus and Tonks faced Antonin Dolohov, who had recovered from his earlier fight with Lettie and Theo.
Dolohov sneered, his wand sparking with dark energy. "Another filthy werewolf and a half-blood Auror. Disgusting."
Tonks rolled her eyes. "Do they all read from the same script?"
Remus remained calm. "Let's make this quick."
Dolohov struck first, sending a blazing purple curse toward them.
Remus countered with Protego, while Tonks retaliated with Expulso, blasting debris at Dolohov's feet. He dodged, his expression twisting with fury.
"Sectumsempra!" Dolohov snarled, sending a deadly slash of magic toward them.
Remus deflected it smoothly. "Your aim is off."
Tonks used his distraction.
"Incarcerous!" Ropes shot from her wand, wrapping tightly around Dolohov's limbs.
Remus raised his wand. "Stupefy."
Dolohov collapsed, unconscious.
Tonks grinned at Remus. "That was fun."
He gave her a look. "You worry me."
Molly and Arthur stood at the entrance of Flourish and Blotts, guarding a group of frightened children.
"Stay behind me," Molly instructed them firmly, her usual warmth replaced by pure steel.
Arthur sent a Blasting Curse at a charging Death Eater, knocking him into a lamppost.
The second Death Eater, Rodolphus Lestrange, advanced on Molly. "Step aside, woman."
Molly's expression darkened. "I don't think so."
Rodolphus sneered. "You're nothing but a housewife."
Molly's eyes flashed. "Oh, dear, you've made a mistake."
With a flick of her wand, she sent a powerful Stunning Spell straight at his chest, sending him flying back into a cart of cauldrons.
Arthur sighed. "You could've let me handle that."
Molly sniffed. "Please, dear. I was faster."
At the heart of the battle, Sirius faced Rabastan Lestrange.
Rabastan smirked. "The prodigal Black. Fighting against his own blood."
Sirius twirled his wand lazily. "You lot give pure-bloods a bad name."
Rabastan lunged. "Avada Kedavra!"
Sirius dodged smoothly, retaliating with Confringo, sending flames erupting at Rabastan's feet.
Rabastan snarled. "Crucio!"
Sirius sidestepped again. "You're predictable, you know that?"
With a nonverbal spell, Sirius sent Rabastan crashing into a shop sign, knocking him unconscious.
Brushing dust off his jacket, he grinned. "Still got it."
With reinforcements pouring in, the Death Eaters began to retreat. The battle shifted as Order members and Aurors overpowered their opponents one by one.
Voldemort, watching from the shadows, narrowed his eyes.
He was losing.
With a final BOOM, he vanished into thin air, his remaining followers disapparating after him.
The alley fell into a stunned silence.
Diagon Alley was in ruins, smoke rising from shattered buildings, but they had won.
Harry, Lettie, Fred, Theo, Susan, and the rest of their friends stood in the wreckage, panting, bloodied, but victorious.
George turned to Fred, wiping sweat from his brow. "Well... that was a hell of a shopping trip."
Lettie exhaled, heart still pounding. "And I was just starting to enjoy myself."
Harry looked around at his friends, then at the battered alley, determination hardening in his gaze.
This was just the beginning.
