Becky, walking beside Freen, smiled as she watched their daughter.

"She's really something, huh?" Becky murmured.

Freen nodded, her heart feeling too full for words. "She's everything."

Becky reached for Freen's hand, giving it a gentle squeeze.

"Are you nervous?" Becky asked softly.

Freen hesitated, then sighed. "A little. What if she's not listening in class? What if she's talking too much?"

Becky chuckled. "Freen, she's five. That's what kids do."

Freen groaned. "I know, I know. I just want to hear that she's doing okay. That she's happy."

Becky smiled. "She's happy, baby. You can see it in everything she does."

Freen took a deep breath, trusting that.

They had done their best.

And now, it was time to hear it from someone else.

9:00 AM – The Meeting Begins

When they arrived at the school, Mon's teacher, Miss Anna, greeted them with a warm smile.

Miss Anna was a kind-looking woman in her late thirties, with dark brown hair pulled into a neat bun and glasses perched on her nose.

She gestured for them to sit in the tiny classroom, where other parents were already meeting with teachers.

Mon ran off to the play area nearby, where other kids were waiting.

Freen and Becky sat down, hands clasped together as Miss Anna began flipping through a folder.

"So first of all," Miss Anna started, "I have to say—Mon is a delight to have in class."

Freen exhaled.

Okay. That was a good start.

Becky smirked. "She warned us you would say that."

Miss Anna laughed. "I'm not surprised. She's very confident."

Freen and Becky grinned proudly.

"Mon is incredibly bright for her age," Miss Anna continued. "She catches on quickly, loves to ask questions, and is always eager to help her classmates."

Freen's heart swelled.

"She's also very talkative," Miss Anna added with an amused smile.

Freen groaned. "I knew it."

Becky chuckled. "It's in her DNA."

Miss Anna laughed. "She does talk a lot, but it's always curious and thoughtful. She loves storytelling, and she's got a wild imagination."

Becky beamed. "That's my girl."

Freen relaxed, feeling a wave of relief.

"She's adjusting really well," Miss Anna assured them. "She has a close group of friends already, and she's very kind to everyone."

Freen and Becky exchanged a look—a look of pure pride.

"That's all we could ever want," Freen murmured.

Miss Anna smiled. "You two have done a wonderful job raising her."

And just like that—

Freen felt lighter.

10:00 AM – A Proud Walk Home

After the meeting, they picked Mon up from the play area.

"How was it?!" Mon bounced excitedly. "Did Miss Anna tell you I'm the best?"

Freen bent down and ruffled Mon's hair.

"She told us you're very smart, very kind, and very talkative."

Mon grinned. "Told you!"

Becky laughed. "You really did."

As they walked home, Mon held both of their hands, swinging between them as she chattered about her day.

Freen looked over at Becky, who was already looking at her.

No words were needed.

They had done okay.

More than okay.

They had raised a little girl who was smart, kind, and full of life.

And really—

That was the best thing in the world.
