From the moment Mon started school, it was clear that she had something special about her.
Maybe it was the way she always smiled first when meeting someone new.
Maybe it was the way she noticed the little things—like when a classmate looked lonely, or when someone needed an extra hand with their backpack.
Or maybe it was just who she was.
A little girl with a heart so big, it couldn't fit into just one friendship.
Emma was still her best friend, but soon, Mon's circle began to grow.
And before long—
Mon was the girl everyone loved.
-----------
It started small.
One day at lunch, Mon and Emma were laughing over their juice boxes, when Mon noticed a boy sitting alone at the next table.
His name was Jayden. He was new, shy, and still trying to figure out how to fit in.
Without a second thought, Mon grabbed her apple slices, walked over, and plopped down in the seat next to him.
"Hi! I'm Mon!" she said with a big, bright smile.
Jayden looked up, a little surprised. "Oh... hi."
"You like apples?" Mon asked, offering him a slice.
Jayden blinked, then slowly nodded. "Yeah... I guess."
"Great! You can have some. My Mama always says sharing is caring."
Jayden hesitated—then took a piece.
And just like that, Mon had a new friend.
----------
As time went on, Mon's kindness became legendary.
She was the first to help pick up fallen books when someone dropped them in the hallway.
She was the one who hugged classmates who were sad after a bad test score.
She was the girl who held hands with the nervous new student, leading them into the classroom with an encouraging, "Come sit with me!"
Even her teacher, Ms. Ava, couldn't help but adore her.
One afternoon, at a parent-teacher meeting, Ms. Ava gushed to Freen and Becky.
"Mon is the heart of our classroom," she said with a fond smile. "She makes everyone feel safe. She's the kind of kid who turns a classroom into a family."
Freen and Becky shared a proud glance, their hearts swelling.
"That sounds like our Mon," Becky said softly, squeezing Freen's hand under the table.
---------
With so many friends, Mon's social life exploded.
Every weekend, she had a playdate, a birthday party, or a sleepover invitation.
Sometimes, Freen and Becky wondered if they had accidentally adopted a tiny celebrity.
One Saturday, Becky was in the kitchen making snacks when Mon rushed in, breathless and excited.
"Mama! Mom! Can I have a sleepover?! Please, please, please!"
Freen, stirring a pot of soup, raised an eyebrow. "Who are you inviting?"
Mon counted on her fingers. "Emma, Jayden, Mia, Noah, Sophie, and Kwan!"
Becky choked on her tea. "Baby, that's six kids."
Mon nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah!"
Freen chuckled. "How about... three? Let's start small."
Mon pouted dramatically, but Becky kissed the top of her head.
"We'll do another one soon," she promised. "Okay?"
Mon sighed, then brightened again. "Okay! I'll go tell them!"
And just like that, she sprinted off—already planning the next big adventure.
----------
Mon's kindness didn't just make her popular—it made her beloved.
At school, at the playground, even at the grocery store—there was always someone waving at her, calling her name.
One day, while shopping, a mother walked up to Freen and Becky, a little girl holding her hand.
"Excuse me," the woman said, smiling. "I just wanted to say... your daughter is amazing."
Becky blinked. "Oh?"
The woman nodded. "My daughter, Lily, was really shy. She had trouble making friends. But Mon—she made sure Lily never sat alone. She included her in everything. She even stood up for her when some kids were being mean."
Freen and Becky melted on the spot.
"That sounds like Mon," Freen said, glancing at their daughter, who was laughing with Lily down the aisle.
The mother sighed happily. "I just wanted to thank you. You're raising a truly special girl."
That night, as they tucked Mon into bed, Becky kissed her forehead.
"You're amazing, you know that?" Becky whispered.
Mon, sleepy but smiling, snuggled into her blankets. "Because I have the best Mama and Mom."
Freen's heart burst.
Because Mon wasn't just a girl with many friends.
She was a girl who made the world better—one friend at a time.
