Meeting the parents was one thing.
Meeting the sister and her overprotective girlfriend?
That was an entirely different battlefield.
And Anil?
She was ready.
Or so she thought.
Pin had warned her.
"Sam is... intense," Pin had muttered as they sat outside the café, waiting for Mon and Sam to arrive.
Anil smirked.
"How intense?"
Pin sighed.
"She once made a guy cry for flirting with Mon."
Anil blinked.
"...Cry?"
Pin nodded.
"Like, full-on, ran-out-of-the-room, sobbing cry."
Anil whistled.
"Remind me to never flirt with Mon."
Pin gave her a look.
Anil grinned.
"Relax, sweetheart," she teased, nudging Pin's arm. "I only have eyes for you."
Pin rolled her eyes but her ears turned pink.
And then—
The door opened.
Pin sat up.
Anil straightened.
And in walked Mon and Sam.
Mon, smiling warmly.
Sam?
Sam looked like she was ready to interrogate a criminal.
Anil barely held back a grin.
This was going to be fun.
-----------
"Pin!" Mon beamed, immediately pulling her into a hug.
Pin relaxed instantly.
Anil watched, amused.
Mon was softer than Becky, gentler than Sam.
Which meant—
She was probably the easier one to win over.
Mon pulled back, eyes twinkling.
"So," she started, turning to Anil, grinning. "This is the famous Anilaphat, huh?"
Anil grinned.
"In the flesh."
Mon laughed.
"I like you already."
Anil smirked.
"Smart choice."
And just like that—
Mon was on her side.
Easy.
But then—
Sam cleared her throat.
And the air?
It shifted.
------------
Sam did not smile.
Did not laugh.
Did not blink.
She simply stared.
Assessing. Calculating.
Anil?
She just stared right back.
Pin gulped.
"Sam," Mon said gently, resting a hand on her arm. "Relax."
Sam?
Did not relax.
Instead, she folded her arms.
"Let's cut to the chase," Sam said, voice cool. "What are your intentions with Pin?"
Pin groaned.
"Not this again."
Anil, completely unfazed, leaned forward.
"My intentions?" she repeated.
Sam narrowed her eyes.
"Yes. My little sister is important to me. And if you're not serious about her, then you need to leave now."
Anil's smirk vanished.
And suddenly—
She was serious.
She met Sam's gaze head-on.
"I'm serious about her," she said, voice steady, firm. "I love her."
Pin's heart stopped.
Sam raised a brow.
"Love is a strong word."
Anil nodded.
"And I mean it."
Mon's eyes softened.
Sam?
Sam continued to stare.
Pin shifted uncomfortably.
She could practically see the gears turning in Sam's head.
And then—
Sam suddenly leaned back.
Crossed her arms.
And—
Smirked.
"Well," she mused, tilting her head. "At least you're not a coward."
Pin's jaw dropped.
Anil just grinned.
"Never."
Sam snorted.
"Good. Because if you ever hurt her, I will personally make sure you regret it."
Anil?
Anil laughed.
"Fair enough."
And just like that—
Sam approved.
Pin exhaled.
Mon smiled knowingly.
And Anil?
She just winked at Pin.
Piece of cake.
