Anil was relentless.

It had been weeks since their date at the bookstore.

Weeks of teasing.

Weeks of stolen glances, knowing smirks, and casual touches that weren't so casual.

And weeks of Anil waiting for Pin to just say it.

But Pin?

She was stubborn.

She avoided the topic like her life depended on it.

She changed the subject.

Ignored Anil's not-so-subtle hints.

Pretended she was too busy.

But the truth?

She was just terrified.

Because once she said it, once she admitted out loud that she liked Anil too, there would be no turning back.

And that thought?

It made her heart race.

She just... didn't know how to do this.

Didn't know how to be open like Anil was.

Didn't know how to say things that made her vulnerable.

So she didn't.

She let Anil chase.

And Anil?

Anil enjoyed every second of it.

Until one afternoon—

Anil decided she was done waiting.

----------

Pin was sitting at her desk, buried in a book, when Anil slammed her hands down right in front of her.

Pin jumped.

Looked up.

And immediately froze.

Because Anil?

She looked... serious.

No teasing smirk.

No playful grin.

Just determination.

Pin swallowed.

"...What?" she asked hesitantly.

Anil huffed.

"Okay, I'm done waiting."

Pin blinked. "Waiting for what?"

Anil gave her a look.

"You know what."

Pin suddenly found her book very interesting.

Anil sighed, running a hand through her hair.

"Pin, come on," she said, softer this time. "You like me."

Pin's heart raced.

Anil leaned forward, resting her arms on the desk.

"And I know you're scared," she continued, voice softer, warmer. "I know this is new for you. But I'm not going anywhere."

Pin's fingers tightened around the edges of her book.

Because the truth was—

She had liked Anil since the first moment she saw her.

Maybe too much.

She swallowed hard, still not looking at her.

"I... don't know how to do this," she whispered.
