My vision was blurred and my arm hurt badly. The most confusing part of the scenario I woke up to was the fact that there was a man in front of me even though I could not see his face clearly. I took a breath and tried to get myself back. The man in front of me moved suddenly.  I retracted under the covers and opened my eyes, seeing a lot clearer then. I admired the man’s smooth skin. His brows were furrowed and I reached out to smoothen the lines between them. It was only then I realized the owner of the face before me. It was Brian’s. I quickly took note of my surroundings and realized that I was not in my room or Nanny Lisa’s room. I was in Brian’s room and he was lying beside me. I bit my lower lip as a thought popped in my head. I was drunk last night. How on earth did I end up in his bed? I was about to make another move when his lashes fluttered. I held my breath, desperately praying that he would not wake up I heaved an inaudible sigh and grabbed the covers when he suddenly grabbed my hand. I looked up sharply, meeting his gaze. His eyes were clear, meaning he had been awake the whole time.
‘You are just going to leave without saying goodbye? Or at the very least good morning?’
I gasped ‘What happened last night?’
‘You were so drunk. Your tolerance is really terrible. I tried waking you up but you did not budge so I carried you. You simply refused to let go of me.’ My eyes subconsciously travelled to a long, faint red mark on his neck, probably where I was holding him the previous night.
‘I’m sorry.’
‘Whatever.’ He said and got out of bed. ‘Get dressed. We have a lot to do today.’
‘I…’
I inhaled sharply, wanting to say something but not knowing how to place my words right. I got out as well. As soon as I reached the door I turned around to see that he was still standing by the bed. Basically drilling holes in my body with his stare. I nodded and left the room.

Dr. Shi sent his agent like he promised he would. Normally, if I was to buy a condo unit in an estate, the money I had on me would be nowhere near enough. But since I was buying the ones in the province, I was able to afford two. His agent was very enthusiastic about selling the property to me because of the depreciating prices. I did not really care about any of that. All I wanted was to have a landed property so I could start a life from there. I signed the papers and shook hands with the agent before he left. I took the papers with me and turned around only to see Brian standing behind me. I nearly jumped out of my skin. What was he doing in the worker’s break room? I was sitting with Andrea
‘What are you doing here?’ I furrowed my brow. Was I not supposed to be the one asking him that? It was only then that I remembered that he asked me to meet him in his office during lunch break. He spoke again with an unreadable expression. ‘Meet me in five minutes.’ He said and walked away without another word. I blinked in surprise and turned around only to see Andrea behind me again. I heaved a sigh.
‘Where were you?’ I asked and playfully punched her shoulders.
‘Ow.’ She hissed ‘I went over there for some bagels.’ She looked down at the files that I set on the table beside me. ‘What? You bought a house at the province?’
‘I had to own a place somewhere!’
‘You could have told me. My uncle is a real estate agent and he has the highest ratings in his company. He could have gotten you an affordable house in an estate.’
‘The province is much more peaceful.’
‘True. So now what? Are you going to give it up for rent?’
‘I was thinking of converting it to a hotel.’
She laughed. ‘How many rooms are in that thing?’
‘A hundred and twenty.’
She almost spit her drink out ‘Celine, you clearly walked into a trap. You will eventually be in for a loss. You bought a property that big for just 10 million?! Listen to me, Celine. Your hotel could work… except that nobody’s really going to want to invest in a hotel that remote.’ She snapped her fingers ‘and you can’t exactly sell it either, nobody is really going to want it!’
‘They will when the land appreciates.’ I said firmly.
‘And if that does not happen??’
‘I’ll resell it!’
She decide not to argue with me and laughed. ‘Girl, you are delulu!’ she said and brushed the conversation aside. She paused for a sip
