By the third day, there was a little folded card tucked under his pillow. The writing was messier this time, maybe Jungkook had scribbled it in a rush before leaving for work.
“If it hurts, I don’t need to know why. But I’ll be here to hold you through it. Always your safe place.”
Taehyung blinked rapidly, hiding his eyes behind his arm as he lay back on the bed.
Taehyung didn't cry, not fully, but something warm spread through his chest and swallowed the cold edge Liam’s words had left behind.
Jungkook didn’t know the reason behind his angel’s sadness, but he was sure Taehyung was hiding something.
Instead of asking, he tried to heal him—with soft words, gentle gifts, and quiet gestures.
He gave him space, patiently waiting for the day Tae would open his heart and tell him what's bothering him.
...
Later that night, when Jungkook came home, Taehyung greeted him at the door with a soft smile, arms wide open.
“Welcome home, Jagiya!” he whispered.
Jungkook looked surprised for a second, then wrapped his arms around him tightly. “Missed me already?”
Taehyung only nodded, resting his head against Jungkook’s shoulder.
“I love you,” he said softly.
Jungkook froze for a second, then smiled, his heart thudding aloud.
“I too love you, sweeto.” Jungkook mumbled, nuzzling in Tae's crook. "Forever."
Maybe the words Liam said still lingered in some corner of Tae’s mind,, but with Jungkook’s quiet love blooming around him, they didn’t hurt so much anymore.
...
Jungkook had lit one of Taehyung’s favorite candles. He said it was for relaxation, but really, he just wanted Taehyung to feel safe. At peace.
Jungkook lay on his side, propped up on one strong elbow, watching Taehyung as he folded laundry on the bed.
He didn’t offer to help, not because he didn’t want to, but because he knew Taehyung liked to keep his hands busy when his heart was heavy.
But even then… Jungkook couldn’t stay quiet for too long.
“Do you want tea? Or maybe a massage?” he offered playfully, nudging Taehyung’s knee with his foot.
Taehyung looked up, a little startled, before giving him a small smile. “You already did too much today…”
“I can do more.” Jungkook pouted. “Let me spoil you for once.”
