All the warriors at Kame House had departed for their separate training regimens, leaving only Goku behind. He had decided to take a well-deserved vacation and simply enjoy some peaceful moments. The sun was beginning its descent toward the horizon, painting the sea in brilliant shades of crimson and gold. The gentle waves lapped against the shore, their foam catching the dying light like scattered rubies across the sand.
Goku lay sprawled on the sofa, his chin resting in his palm as he observed Master Roshi kneeling before the television. The old master was completely absorbed in watching the weather woman deliver her forecast, his eyes gleaming with barely contained excitement.
Nearby, Bulma knelt at the low table, completely focused on some intricate device she was tinkering with. Her brow was furrowed in concentration, tools scattered around her as she worked. Goku found himself studying her profile-the way her big blue eyes narrowed in focus, her delicate nose scrunching slightly when she encountered a particularly challenging component.
A strange thought struck him suddenly. *She's... actually kind of cute.*
He'd never noticed before, probably because she usually drove him up the wall with her complaints and demands. But seeing her like this, absorbed in her work, he couldn't help but appreciate her features.
"She's cute when she shuts up," Goku muttered, not realizing he'd spoken aloud.
Bulma's head snapped up, catching only the tail end of his comment. "What? What did you say?"
"Nothing," Goku replied quickly, turning his attention toward Roshi, who was now attempting to peek up the weather woman's skirt through the screen.
The bathroom door opened with a soft click, and out stepped Mai and blue-haired Lunch, both wearing Lunch's clothes-a pair of shorts and a tank top. Since Mai was taller and more athletically built, the clothes fit her quite differently. The tank top hugged her toned frame like a crop top, revealing her flat midriff, while the shorts clung to her muscular thighs.
Goku rolled onto his back, hands clasped behind his head, his mind wandering to that mysterious voice he'd heard earlier. So many questions swirled through his thoughts, but his contemplation was interrupted when something blocked his view of the ceiling.
Looking up, he found Mai leaning over him, her chest hovering inches from his face. The shortened tank top left little to the imagination, and Goku could see the gentle curve of her breasts from below. She wore a mysterious smile that didn't reach her eyes.
"What?" Goku asked, feeling oddly unsettled by her proximity.
"Nothing!" she chirped, still smiling that enigmatic smile.
Goku didn't trust that expression one bit.
"Dinner will be ready soon, everyone!" Lunch called out in her sweet, innocent voice from the kitchen.
Mai straightened up quickly, the sudden movement causing her braless form to bounce noticeably. "I'll help you!" she announced, heading toward the kitchen area behind the sofa.
Goku heard a rustling sound beside him and turned to see Master Roshi creeping along on his knees. The old master positioned himself with his hands on the sofa's back cushions, peering toward the kitchen with a ridiculous grin and bright red cheeks.
"Isn't this nice?" Roshi sighed dreamily.
"What?" Goku asked.
Roshi jerked his head toward the kitchen. Curious, Goku propped himself up to look over the cushions.
Mai and Launch were working side by side in the kitchen, both wearing Lunch's shorts, but the garments looked completely different on each woman. Mai's toned, athletic build made the shorts sit snugly against her upper thighs, creating an appealing silhouette. Lunch, with her softer curves, filled out the shorts in an entirely different way-the fabric rode up slightly due to her fuller hips, creating a gentle crease that she occasionally had to adjust with her fingers.
