Unexpected [Steven Universe Reader Insert ]

[[ Sorry for the late update! I had a fight with my family and went through some anger. Please don't kill meeeee! ;-; ]]

You had talked with Steven a lot more about the battle with a 'gem monster'. He was apparently a Crystal Gem, part of a group of supernatural gem beings who protect Earth. It would've sounded like a joke to anyone normal, but after what you've seen, you would never be able to deny it. It's hard, solid fact now.

Steven had explained a lot about the town, giving summaries of all the people he could name. Which was about everyone who lived in the town, to be honest. You had been officially introduced to the gems, they being very kind. You preferred Steven out of them all though. Steven is a precious cinnamon roll too good for this world, too pure.

You had ended up buying you, Steven and Amethyst ice cream. You had offered some for the other two women, but Garnet didn't seem to want any. While Pearl... Apparently just didn't eat. You thought it was a joke at first, to be honest. That was until she gave you a look. Note to self: Never laugh about aliens and their habits. Ever.

You were all currently walking down the boardwalk, engaged in light conversation. Steven licked at his Crying Breakfast Friends themed ice cream cone, happily munching at the red, green and blue colored waffle cone. You had seen the cartoon when browsing through your channels, it eventually becoming one of your favorites. But [Fav/TvS] Will always be your 1#. When you had mentioned this to Steven (discluding the part about [Fav/TvS]) he was ecstatic. Amethyst and Pearl were pretty surprised too, mostly because a grown woman liked watching a cartoon.

Somewhere down the line, you ended up buying a [Fav/Flavor] slushy. Why, you don't know. But you wanted one, so haha. You all had sat down on a bench to rest not long ago. Steven was stitting on Garnet's lap, Pearl had preferred to stand, and Amethyst was next to you. She seemed to be fond of you, most likely because you had bought her food. Animalistic, if you do say so yourself. You look through your basket that was sat on your lap, making sure all of your belongings were inside.

" Wazzat for? " Steven asks, curiously looking at the woven basket. You chuckle. " I was planning on doing a little picnic later tonight. For the firework show. "

His eyes sparkle. " Wow, that's so cool! Can me and the gems join in? " Pearl frowns slightly, feeling Steven's question was a bit on the impolite side. You speak before she can. " Sure, why not? It'll be fun. " He squeals happily in reply.

[[ I will be posting 2-3 chapters tomorrow to make up for my absence. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for upcoming chapters? I'd like to know what goes on in my readers' minds! Speaking of which, I have a few ideas for later on too. I'd like some feedback, if you will:

A redemption AU sort-of mini plot, with the reader meeting the HG. Shenanigans ensue.

Amethyst develops a small crush on the reader, claims that she is the reader's 'knight in shining armor'. Steven joins in the fun as well, ruining the moment in the most adorable way.

Pearl offers to train the reader ballet, is impressed to know the reader knows a lot of ballet already.

Garnet is somehow convinced to give the reader a piggy back ride, refers to reader as 'a child in a woman's body'
