chapter two
Jeremey:"Jeremy, what the hell man?" She pulled out the chair next to me and sat down. "Where were you?"
"What do you mean?" I asked confused.
She has been sitting next to me for the past few weeks now. I don't know why though; it's always a one sided conversation from her side, and me just being a rude ass. Anyone could sit anywhere, but somehow she always ended up next to me every lesson.
"I mean, you have been away since Friday and its Thursday today. Do you know how worried I was?" She questioned, a little angry. "I thought you got run over a tractor or are like super duper sick, ugh."
She sighed, and folded her arms angrily as she leaned back on her chair. She seemed like a five year old whose mum wouldn't allow her to get a lollipop.
Such a kid, I shook my head.
I faced the front and started doing my work
The girl stayed quiet the whole time.
Everytime she would move to get her pencil or turn the page, I sat up a little straighter, ready to be bombarded with her weird talks. But she didn't say anything today.
I kept looking her way, too see if she was looking at me or even smiling, but she wasn't. Her face was blank and she didn't even spare me a glance.
What the hell is wrong with her today?
The class dragged on; long, boring and too quiet.
Finally the hour passed and the bell rang signalling the class' end. I slowly started to pack up, and looked at her. She still hadn't looked at me, and remained quiet as she packed her bag with a neutral face.
The thing about Emma was that she never had any expression other than happy, with a permanent smile, glued to her face.
Whats wrong, Em?
A minute ticked by and I started making my way out of class.
"Jeremy," I turned around to look at her with a smirk, she finally cracked. "Wipe that smirk off before I smack it off." She said dryly.
"Here put your number in this," she said as she handed me her phone. I gave her a weird look, "Incase you decide to disappear from the face of earth again, I can check to see if you're fine." She explained, still a little grumpy.
I couldn't help but find it a little sweet as I typed my number into her phone.
Damn I need to punch a wall to get my manliness back.
...
2:35am
"Hello?"
I heard little sniffs on the other side.
"Jer."
