chapter thirteen
Jeremey:As I walked two footsteps behind Emma to Eddy's, I couldn't help but feel jealous.
Yes, I admit that I was jealous.
Not because Emma was going on a date with Joshua Adams or because Emma had a date with someone other than me. That was Emma's choice and I couldn't restrain her or tell her what to do, because for one I don't own her. Secondly she has the right to make her own choices.
I was jealous of Joshua Adams who had the courage of asking Emma Wright on a date.
Em skipped all the way to Eddy's, giddy happiness flowing from her. I felt something in my gut.
I wish I was the one who she was so happy to meet. But I wasn't.
At five past seven we reached Eddy's- the small dinner in the middle of the town. Eddy's always over flowed with nervous teenagers on Friday nights. I guess we weren't part of that exception tonight.
I saw Emma run up to a girl who I had never seen before and hugged her. The girl hugged her back just as enthusiastically, before letting go and smiling at her wildly. She turned around and grabbed a boy, turning him towards Em.
"Emma, this is Joshua Adams. Joshua, this is Emma Wright." She smiled as she introduced them. I let out a snort.
"Jer, come here." Em reached for hand, bringing me to her side.
"Guys, this is Jeremy Archer. Jeremy, this is Rose Dallas and Joshua Adams." She looked in between the three of us, beaming.
We stood there for a few moments, in awkward silence. Until Rose cleared her throat and suggested we all go in. Em and her led the way as Joshua Adams and I followed.
"Jeremy Archer, the names familiar."
"It's Jeremey, Jeremey Archer." I said thin-lipped. I could see him pale a little, but he kept moving.
I guess he was from here; he knew the rumours.
I felt good though, like I intimidated him. I scared him slightly, which was good. Now every time he'd come near to the thought of hurting Emma Wright, he'll think of the crazy psychotic guy whose her best friend.
We managed to have gotten a booth, and settled into it. Emma sat next to me. I found the way we sat a little weird considering its Em's date with Joshua Adams, but I let it slide.
It's better having her next to me.
"I'm so happy, we all could make it to this double date." Rose's eyes glinted as she looked at me.
I avoided her eyes and started looking at the menu.
After ordering our food, the awkward silence returned once again. God this was awful.
"So, how did you's meet?" Emma asked the two in front of her, trying to fight back a smile for some reason.
I looked at Emma. She sat up a bit straighter, looking at me. She gave me a knowing bright smile.
We finished the food with more small talk and headed out.
After ten minutes of walking we stood in front of a haunted house. An attraction haunted house. It looked fake and like it was created to scare six year olds out of their minds.
"I'll go buy the tickets." Fuckboy said as he walked away.
I mean he wasn't bad, but I didn't like him.
"Are you sure about this?" Rose whispered coming closer to Em. Emma nodded encouragingly.
"I saw it on a Korean show, haunted houses cause 'skinship', therefore more intimacy and closeness." I looked at Emma, and wondered what was going on her head?
Did she really want me to get 'intimate' and 'close' with Rose?
"Here you go, Emma Wright." He handed Em two tickets flashing her a smile.
Prick.
"Okay, so Emma, you guys go first or shall we?" Rose asked turning around.
"We'll go first, so you guys can take your time." Em winked at her, smirking.
I huffed, and folded my arms.
Rose nodded and stood back.
Emma turned around and reached for my arm. She wrapped herself around my arm, and shivered.
"Should've worn jeans." She simply said.
I agreed. Emma looked completely beautiful in her dark green dress, but it was a cold November night. She must be freezing.
I took off my jacket and handed it to her. She smiled and took it without complaining.
"Come on, our turn to go." She tugged my hand. I gave her a confused look.
"We're going first, Jer."
"Shouldn't you go with your date?"
"That's exactly what I'm doing, now come on." She rolled her eyes, pulling me along with her.
