----------------------------------------------I rolled over in my bed and looked at the clock. 9:00 AM. I actually slept through Adam's snoring last night. Impressive.
When I looked at Adam's bed though, he wasn't there. What the hell? It was way too early for Adam to be awake. It was too early for any of us to be awake actually. I heard the door open and close, and Adam came tip toeing into view.
"What are you doing?"
He jumped at the sound of my voice. I almost laughed. "Uh...hi."
"Why did you just come in from outside?" I asked. Why is he acting so weird?
"I had to go to the bathroom." He said.
"Uh huh...we have one right there." I pointed.
He nodded. "I know. I don't like that one."
"Where did you go then?"
"Outside." He said, quickly.
"Outside?"
"Yeah. There's a nice bush out there."
Was he serious? "Let me get this straight. You got up, walked all the way outside, to pee on a bush, because you don't like this bathroom?"
"Yes."
I stared at him. He's hiding something, I know it. I'll find out too, but not right now. Right now, I'm going back to sleep.
"I'm not in the mood to find out what you were really up to right now, so I'll let this one go." I told him. Adam let out a sigh of relief and flopped down on the bed.
"Are you going back to sleep?" I asked him.
"Yep."
"Don't snore."
He laughed. "I can't make any promises."
"I will suffocate you dude."
"Violent much?"
"Always." I said.
"You realize Bently will probably be waking us up in an hour right? He hates that he has to do that, but if someone doesn't, we would all sleep through the day." Adam said.
"Yeah well he has to wake up Tyler first. I've seen someone try to wake him up. It's like trying to wake the dead."
"Tyler's awake."
Whoa. That's shocking. "Why?"
"He said he was going running."
Running. I haven't ran in three days. Suddenly my legs were aching to move. I jumped up and through on some shorts and a tank top.
"I'll be back later." I told Adam.
"Can't resist?" He chuckled.
"You know me too well."
I ran down the hallway, through the lobby, and down the sidewalk toward the beach. It felt good. My muscles felt like they could breathe again. I didn't realize I needed this so much. It just became a natural thing to me. Everyday I would wake up and go running. Even in the winter time. It was my time to escape from reality, and let my mind wander. I get lost in my thoughts. Everyone and everything becomes invisible. It's just me, and the pavement.
Just then I hit something hard. I felt myself falling and closed my eyes, waiting to hit the ground. Except I didn't. I wasn't even falling anymore. I felt two strong arms wrapped around my waist.
