I woke up and saw Adam staring at me and the first thing I thought was I was caught with Tyler again. Bently is going to walk through the door any minute and see us, then it's over. I got a second chance and I blew it.
"You make faces in your sleep." Adam said.
I reached to slap him but he moved away. "Jerk." I snuggled deeper into the covers. I should be getting up, but I'm so warm.
"What are you doing punk?" The voice came from the wrong spot. It should be beside me, but it's on the other side of the room.
"Watching her sleep. It looked like she was having a crazy dream."
"Maybe she was." I heard Tyler mumble.
I looked to the part of the room his voice was coming from. There he was in his own bed. Did I just dream of asking his to stay with me last night? No, of course not. I had the weird dream about the bridges, he woke me up, and told him to stay. So why was he over there?!
"Bently told me to tell you both to get up. We're actually doing stuff today." He smiled. I suddenly felt bad for being the reason we haven't done much. I'm sure it's killing Adam, being stuck in this place all day.
"Ok, we'll get ready. Now leave." Tyler said.
He nodded and ran out. I looked, actually glared, at Tyler. "Why are you there?"
He looked at me. "What are you talking about?"
"You're there...in you own bed. Why?"
"Because...it's my bed." He answered.
I got up and stomped to the bathroom. I don't know why I was so mad about this. I should be happy he moved. Right?
"Did I do something wrong in the three minutes I've been awake?" He asked me, leaning against the doorway.
I spun around. "When I have a bad dream and ask you to stay, I expect you to stay the whole night. Not until you feel like it's okay to get up and go back to your own bed."
"Wow." He said in disbelief. "You're mad because I did you a favor?"
I guess in a way he did do me a favor. If he had stayed with me, and it was Bently instead of Adam that came in, it would have just caused another fight between everybody.
"I'm not mad." I said.
"Yes you are."
"I asked you to stay with me for a reason Tyler. I wasn't trying to start trouble with Bently or anything. When I have a bad dream, I just need to know someone is there." I explained.
I hated having sensitive conversations with him. I would much rather be yelling at him. When we talk like civilized people, things get awkward.
"Baby." He said, walking so he was in front of me. "I was there. I got up early and went running. When I came back I didn't feel like taking a shower so I went back to my bed so you wouldn't have to be near me when I'm sweaty. I couldn't care less about Bently finding out."
So that's what he meant by doing me a favor. Damn it! I just made myself look stupid. "Oh...sorry for yelling then."
"It's ok. I'm glad you want me to sleep with you." He smirked.
I glared at him. "I don't. When I have bad dreams, I'll ask anyone to stay with me. Ask anyone in my family."
"Nah, I like to think it's just me."
"Whatever." I mumbled.
I moved to turn the shower on. God knows I needed one. Apparently Tyler had the same idea because he reached to turn it on too. We both stepped back and looked at eachother.
