"You really should pay more attention. What if I was some other guy that didn't have good enough reflexes to catch you? Or worse, a poor, defenseless, little old lady? You could have killed her!"
Of course it would be him I run into. I'm not lucky enough to run into a building, or a car...or a mugger. I opened my eyes and looked up into Tyler's blue eyes. The same as Bently's. It was scary.
"Why is it always you?"
He laughed. "I told you last night. Fate."
I shook my head and pushed him away. "I highly doubt that."
"Whatever baby. Seriously though, you need to pay attention. You're going to get hurt if you don't."
"I'll try." I said, and started running again. I heard him come up beside me, but kept my eyes straight ahead. I knew he would follow me.
"Did you get inspired to run this morning too?" He asked.
I laughed. "Actually Adam told me you were running, and I felt like I needed it."
"Adam?"
Was he as shocked as I was that he was awake that early? "Yeah. He walked in saying he had to pee on a bush, and told me you were running."
Tyler sighed. "That idiot."
I laughed. We were quiet again after that. The only sounds were our feet hitting the pavement and both of us breathing heavily. We reached the beach and I laid down in the sand, and he did the same. God, that was a lot further than I thought it was.
"You're really sexy when you're sweaty." Tyler said
I hit him. "Shut up."
"Just speaking the truth."
I layed there in silence again. I closed my eyes and listened to the waves roll in. I love the beach so much. It's so peaceful, well it's peaceful until people start showing up, then it's some what annoying.
"Actually I wasn't speaking the truth. You aren't sexy." Tyler said after a while.
I scoffed. "Thanks a lot."
"You're down right gorgeous."
That caught me off guard. Where did that come from? I didn't even know Tyler knew the word gorgeous.
"Um thanks?"
"Yeah that was sudden, I know."
"Where did that come from?"
He shrugged. "I looked over at you laying there, and it just kind of hit me."
"So you finally realized I'm not the weird freaky girl I was when I was little huh?"
"Baby, I realized that a while ago."
"So when you saw I had boobs?"
He laughed. "Pretty much."
I rolled my eyes. "You're an idiot."
"Well I'm idiot that can beat you to the pier." He smiled, knowing I wouldn't be able to turn down a challenge.
"Yeah right. You know I'm faster than you."
"Wanna bet."
"Five bucks!"
"Deal. First one to the pier wins."
"Ok."
We both stood up. "Ok on go. He said. I nodded and he started counting. "1,2...GO!" He pushed me down and started running, laughing the whole time.
