| Your POV |
You're not even sure how to process the things that Hiro said. You're sure that they're truthful, and wow, they hurt. Yet they still didn't hurt more than the pain in Hiro's eyes. You physically ached because you knew how hard it hit him. Professor Callaghan was the Hamada brothers' hero, and now he's suddenly an uncaring villain. Hiro's broken face lingers in the front of your mind. You cared for him way more than he cared for you. When you were out flying with him, you were sure that you fell in love. He was so nice, so gentle and caring, and it was so different from how he usually acted. You were sure he felt something, too. You were wrong.
"What do we do?" Honey Lemon asks softly.
"I-I don't know," Wasabi says. He looks over at you. "___?"
You look up at him in confusion. Honey Lemon says, "You know Hiro better than anyone here. Where would he be? What's his plan?"
You shove your own heart aches aside. The mission comes first. You look at Fred. "Do you have a small plane or helicopter at your mansion?"
"Yeah, we've got the family chopper," he replies cooly.
"Fred, call Heathecliffe. We need the helicopter so we can get out of here."
"Got it, boss," Fred says.
"We'll wait for Heathecliffe," you explain, "and we'll follow them. Baymax's scanners were inoperable, so they're probably at the garage. If Heathecliffe hurries, we can catch them. Hiro will probably take out the healthcare chip and send Baymax out to destroy Callaghan. We need to stop them."
Go Go nods. Honey Lemon gives you a sad smile. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine," you assure her.
"What he said . . . it isn't true. We love you, ___. It doesn't matter to us that you're not a science geek. You're a wonderful person and we're happy to call you our friend. Hiro, he's just speaking with a broken heart."
You smile. "I know. I love you guys."
"I hate to be the one to break up such a heartwarming moment," Go Go says sarcastically, "but I just found this." She hands you a black square.
"A flash drive?" you examine it.
"It must've fallen out of Callaghan's coat," she observes. "It probably has some information on it."
"Maybe it'll tell us what made Callaghan turn so quickly," Honey Lemon says.
"We'll give it to Hiro," you say. You nod at Go Go. "Thanks."
"Guys," Fred says. He jerks his head towards the doors. "Heathecliffe will be here any minute. We should get out there."
By the time you reach the garage, Hiro seems to be calm. He's standing in front of Baymax, his head hanging. "I'm so sorry," he whispers. "I guess I'm not like my brother."
"Hiro," Go Go says. He turns around.
"Guys, I- I-"
Go Go pulls him into a hug. "We're going to catch Callaghan. And this time, we're going to do things right."
Hiro smiles a little. He looks over at you and frowns. You swallow, trying your hardest to keep your feelings away and your tears kept in your eyes. "___, I-" You look down. "I'm sorry."
"No," you say, letting out a deep breath. "I'm-"
"Don't you dare apologize," Hiro says seriously. You look up at him in surprise. Suddenly, he pulls you against him. He wraps his arms tightly around you and says, "I have been the biggest jerk to you. I am so sorry. I know that you'll probably never forgive me, but I hope that you can. I was wrong. I need you, ___."
You relax in his hold, tightly hugging him back. You bury your face in his shoulder. "I need you, too," you whisper.
Hiro pulls away and squeezes your shoulder. "You have to know that I wouldn't be here now if it weren't for you. We need you to help us fight Callaghan. Will you?"
"You know that I couldn't ever leave you," you reply.
Hiro smiles. "I'm finally starting to realize that," he says. "Come on, everyone. We have to save the city before Callaghan destroys it with those portals."
"Wait, Hiro," Honey Lemon says. "We have something you should see." You hand him the flash drive.
He goes over to his computer and plugs it in. Everyone follows him. You stand directly beside Hiro. As the video begins, Hiro's hand finds yours.
