HANNA'S P.O.V
"Wait, Hanna!"
Luke sprinted down the hallway only because he wanted me to turn around and notice him but I played it a little tough first.
"Dang, ears need to be fixed." He finally gave a tap on my shoulder.
"Oh! Luke? Why running out of breath?" I faked a surprised expression.
"Funny." He rolled his eyes.
"Hahaha. What?" I fixed my ponytail. "Dude! What? My teacher asked me to come to his office in five minutes so better start talking."
"Let me catch my breath first." He pouted.
"Not that the sprint was fenomenal." I smirked and ruined his perfectly-made hair.
"Not my hair!" He pulled my swingy ponytail.
"Goodness, we're not going anywhere." I sighed. "Okay bye."
"Wait wait wait!"
"Hmm?"
"My mom asked me to ask you to come over to my house."
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"My mom, asked me, to ask-"
"Luke, I'm kidding." I laughed so hard. "Look at your face! Hahaha."
"If only killing innocent people wasn't equal to a lifetime in jail." He glared me. "Whatever. Just come, okay? We have barbeque party."
"With parents too?"
"No, just the kids."
"Then why it required the 'my mom asked me to ask you' excuse?"
"Because she really asked me to ask you! You're a pain." He pouted again.
I tapped his shoulders with mercy. "Okay bae. I'll be there. But no need to pick me. I need to go to book store first."
"You sure?"
"Yeah." I nodded. "Where you going now? You have football?"
"No, coach is ill. Heading home. Why? Want me to wait for you?"
"No need. Later, gator!"
"Yeah, later, giggly face!" He mocked me.
I smiled with my head bow to the ground. Luke was funny. It really was an almost ten minutes talk. Like he couldn't just text me for that.
Hi, welcome to my little bubble. I'm Hanna. Just hit the legal age like it's fresh from the oven. And that Luke guy who just ran off to his car was a dear friend of mine. More likely a relative, because our parents have been friends since we weren't even born. Luke was born in Orlando, however, before his parents moved back to Tampa. Not that it's too far. Just their joined business really takes over, that Luke's family and mine ended up deciding to live at the same block.
So I headed home at around 2 PM after that long talk with the teacher. There was this biology competition team that he assigned me to take care of, because I once was a part of previous team. All good. Time to meet mom at home, see what I could do to help with her tonight's dinner menu, before book store visit this afternoon, and Luke's house before dinner time.
"Mom?" I put my bag on the table.
"Hey, there you are. Why late?"
"Biology team." I pulled my sleeves. "Need any help here?"
"Not really. Planning to make savory pancake like your dad asked, but that's all."
"Oh mom, I think I'm gonna have dinner at Luke's. He said this barbeque party thing for kids only, or something."
