Open Wound {1}//jb

It is Avery's birthday, and she is uber excited. It is Friday, so she will have a birthday party after school. Of course she doesn't want to go to school, but she has to. She has her stupid Volleyball test in gym.

She does her usual morning routine. She is in the middle of brushing her hair, when the doorbell rings. "shit" she mutters under her breath. Mariana had left for an early shift with Charlie at the police station. She got a spot on the team, and couldn't be more happy. She was more than qualified for the job.

She thought it was Bella who was at the door, since she would be the one driving Avery to school now, but it was just Jacob. She smiles and hugs him. He has a small box in his hand and a card. "Happy birthday" he tells her. She smiles, hugging him once more and letting him inside the house.

"I got you something. I hope you like it" Jacob sweetly says to Avery. They smile at each other as Avery takes the gift from Jacob. She opens the lid of the box. It is a necklace with a wolf on it. She is confused by what it means, but she loves the design anyways. Just the thought of Jacob giving her the gift makes her heart flutter.

"Oh my gosh, Jake, this is so cute. I love it. Thank you so much!" Avery thanks him excitedly. "It's not a problem. I know you don't understand what it means now, but you'll find out"

Jacob grabs Avery into a hug. She reacts immedietly by hugging back. They pull away and look into each other's eyes. Jacob leans in, making Avery do the same. Their lips connect in a soft kiss. Avery's hands finds their way to his neck pulling him closer.

They jump away when they hear the door being knocked on. They laugh at the sudden interruption. "Son of a bitch" Avery jokes under her breath. She walks over to the door, opening it. She is met with the doe eyes of Bella Swan. She smiles, pulling Bella inside. "Did I ruin something?" Bella asks, taking notice of Jacob. "Yeah, but it's alright. I don't want to be late on my birthday".

The three teens make their way outside and over to Bella's van that the Black's had fixed for her. Well, that Jacob had fixed for her. Bella is in love with her truck and she is so grateful that Jake took his time to fix this beauty.

It is time for my birthday party, and I can't wait for people to start piling in. Mariana invited the Clearwater's since she works with Henry now. When I met the Clearwater's at the party, they were all very nice. Well, all of them except for Leah. She would ignore everybody and keep a mad face on. I decide not to be nosy with her. She scares me.

I walk over to the door, already knowing it is Jacob who knocked. There he stands with Billy, Quil and Embry behind him. Quil pushes Billy's wheelchair inside, bringing him into the living room. "Beer?" I offer Billy. He nods. "Sure, I'll take some too" Embry jokes. Billy chuckles after playfully punching his arm.
