Open Wound {1}//jb

It is 3:22 pm when Avery's whole body starts shaking. Tears stream down her face. Beads of sweat find their way out her pours. Danger is near. Very near. It is 3:56 when danger finally comes face to face with the Cullen clan and the Uley pack. That's when all hell breaks loose.

While Avery is fighting off an older woman, maybe in her late 20's, she starts sweating again. She hears Edward calling har name. That's her cue. Emmett and Avery make eye contact. He gives her a slight nod before ripping off the ladies head from her own body. They smile at each other before she runs off to the very top of the mountain.

There, she comes face to face with her old best friend. Riley Biers. "Avery?" He stutters. He's shocked completely. Victoria hadn't told him anything about Avery or Mariana. She simply said she wanted that human Bella and the Cullen's dead.

~~Avery's p.o.v

"Did Victoria tell you i'm the main reason she's out on this revenge kill?" I ask. Riley frowns. "No. Only the Cullen's and Isabella Swan" he answers. He is astonished.

Avery gets closer to Bella and Edward. "I am a Cullen" she simply says. Riley smiles. "Join us, Avery. We just want that wolf and the girl".

Avery hisses. "What the hell has gotten into you, Riley? What do you think you're going to do after this little war? If you make it out alive, anyways. Riley, you had your life going for you. You had your family, your niece. Your goddamned son, Riley!". Riley had gotten his girlfriend pregnant when they were 15 years old. Riley is 3 years older than me, but he was my neighbor and my best friend. His son was 3 now.

"I'm going to start a life with Victoria. We love each other". Right when Riley said her name, the tree above him rustled. She looks down on us with an expressionless face.

"Riley, you're making a big mistake. Victoria only made you what you are and the rest because she wants revenge. She's doing this for her lost love James. We ripped him to shreds and burned him when he killed Mariana and Avery. I can promise you that after this little thing, she will leave you, and you will be on your own". It is Edward who speaks now.

Riley looks up at Victoria. "Victoria?" He questions. She shakes her head. "It's not true. You are my love Riley. We will live a happy life after this" she lies. Edward chuckles. "I can read her mind, you know. Everything she has told you was lies. This is the first time you're even hearing of James"

Victoria hisses and jumps down from the trees. She goes for Bella, but misses. I grab her by her hair, which makes her growl. Riley starts towards Edward and now they are fighting.

Victoria is now in the lead. She gets me closer to the edge of the mountain. She pushes me off. I begin tumbling down the snowy mountain, but I get my grip back almost at the end. I hiss and start climbing at the fastest rate I can. When I get to the top, I smell blood. Human blood. It is coming from Bella. She has it gushing down her arm. Edward's head is almost behind taken off by Riley and Victoria.

"I'm sorry Riley". I go for him and push him all the way to where Seth is waiting. He calls out for Victoria, but she just ignores him. A single tear slips down my cheek. He has a family, and she ruined it all.

I charge towards Victoria with all my might. Edward holds her down while I jump on her back and flip, taking her head with me. Edward passes me a lighter which I gladly take. I set the hoe's body on fire.

Edward aids Bella while we make our way back down, after Seth came back to let us know the coast was clear and all the newborns were gone.
