Open Wound {1}//jb

After school, Avery makes her way to Jacob's house. Bella drops her off. She thanks Bella, and starts towards Jacob's. It is Jacob's and Avery's 2 month anniversary and he hasn't even called. The last time she saw him was 2 weeks ago, and that was not a exception for her.

She knocks on the door. Embry opens it. She smiles, but he stays expressionless. "Is Jacob home?" She asks. He nods. "But he's sick" he answers quickly. Avery's smile drops. A frown appears on her face. "Okay. Then let me see him" she urges. Embry shakes his head. "No. He-he doesn't want you to see him like this" Embry lies. Avery shoves Embry out of the way.

Of course Embry isn't affected by this, but made it seem like she moved him anyways. Avery is about to make the biggest mistake of her life, and she doesn't even know it.

She searches the house, not finding Jacob anywhere. She looks out the back window, seeing Jacob running laps. She smiles and walks out the back door. Why is Embry trying to keep her way from Jacob? It's exactly what was going through her mind.

"Jacob?" She shouts from across the lawn. Jacob looks back. His eyes widen, but it was too late. Jacob lunged and that was it. Avery screams, Embry pulls her away before Jacob can land on her. Avery frowns. "Jacob?" .

Embry goes inside, grabs a towel and brings it back for Jacob. He covers Jacob while Jacob merges back to his human form. Jacob wraps the towel around his bare waist.

Jacob takes Avery inside and explains everything to her, and while doing that, he lets Edward's secret slip, and boy would he be in some trouble.
