Groaning and cursing, you frowned, hearing the incessant beeping of your phone, the alarm playing out in crescendos and decrescendos, your eyes locked into the screen as the sounds finally ended, causing you to sight softly. Turning onto your back to stare at the white ceiling, you thought, Ugh, my first day. Yippee, you begrudgingly pushed yourself off of the bed and sauntered into the bathroom, quickly washing your face and brushing your teeth.

Rushing back into your room, you shimmied yourself out of your pajamas, slipping on a pair of jeans and a black tank top, red and black flannel overtop. Throwing in a snapback, you grabbed your backpack from the corner of the room, sliding it over your shoulder as you skipped down the stairs, humming a little tune to yourself.

Finding the living room empty, you headed to the kitchen, confusion written across your features upon finding no one there, either. An eerie silence filled the house as you reached the fridge, still looking around for any sign of your missing parents. "Oh?" Left your lips, eyes catching sight of a note stuck to the fridge door with a magnet. Pulling it off of the metal door, your eyes quickly scanned the piece of paper. It was neatly scrawled with a pen in what seemed to be a hurry, but you couldn't stop the words falling from your lips at the contents.

"Oh my god," you moaned, a hand shooting to your forehead as you nervously paced on the ceramic tiles of the kitchen floor. "God, why." Deciding that there was no time to dwell any longer, you scarfed down some toast and orange juice, wiping your lip with the back of your hand, awkwardly standing in your kitchen, backpack slung halfheartedly over one shoulder.

Opening the front door, you were greeted with a fresh breeze, causing you to blissfully close your eyes and breathe in the fresh scent of the neighbourhood. Locking the door behind you, you strolled to the bus stop, hands in your pockets and earbuds in your ears. "Most nights I hardly sleep when I'm alone~" You sang under your breath, finally reaching the corner of your street, but immediately frowned, noticing only three other people there. "So please, don't go, oh no. I think of you whenever I'm alone~" Finishing the set of lyrics, you smiled gently when the song reached the part with soft humming, the sound addictive and peaceful.

Expecting there to be many more people at the stop, waiting impatiently, you were somewhat disappointed upon seeing only three boys in a small cluster, talking rather animatedly to one another. A tall, red echidna stood with his arms crossed and eyebrows furrowed, listening to whatever the blue hedgehog in front of him had to say. A young fox with bright blue eyes seemed to be giving input, his arms moving with his speech.

"Sonic!" The yellow fox exclaimed, pushing the blue hedgehog to face you. Smiling kindly at you, you instantly smiled at the small fox, your eyes crinkling at the corners.

Chuckling nervously, the azure one rubbed the back of his neck with his hand, seemingly flustered and shy in your presence. Taking note, the fuchsia-eyed echidna made sneaky eye contact with the younger, ocean-eyed fox. "Uh, hey!" He greeted, still avoiding your gaze. "You must be the new student. Call me Sonic!" Giving you a thumbs up while grinning, you finally locked eyes and you had to try not to gasp, noticing the gorgeous shade of green they were. Extending a gloved hand, you gratefully took it, shaking it lightly, beaming at him.

"I'm (y/n), by the way," you introduced, a light blush adorning your cheeks as you took in more of his appearance, along with his bright red shoes and pleasant smile. He's hot, holy crap. Would mom approve of hi-oh. Remembering the note, you shook it off and moved your hand from his grip, expectantly waiting for him to introduce you to his friends.

"Want to sit with me on the bus? I'll let you know how our school works while we're at it," he reasoned, a little more confident than before. Nodding your head, a happy aura surrounded you, making him chuckle lightly. "Oh, my bad!" Apologizing, he turned to his friends, pointing to the fox first, "This is Tails. He's an absolute genius, mind you, and he's only 10." Moving onto the scarlet one, he knocked on his forehead, "And this is Knucklehead. The idiot of our group," sighing, he raised his arms in defeat when the echidna gave him a murderous look. "I mean Knuckles."

Exchanging small talk, the bus finally pulled up to the stop, the three gentlemen letting you on first. Sonic nudged your back, indicating for you to get into the seat after him. Knuckles and Tails sat one seat ahead of you two, as Sonic began explaining the basics of Möbius High.

The bus filled quickly, but not before you heard a high pitched voice squealing at you. "Sonic the Hedgehog! Who is that next to you?!" Feeling everyone's eyes on you, you timidly shrugged as Sonic began to speak. "Get away from him!" She growled, sticking her small nose in the air. Rolling your eyes, you decided to take a peek at her, almost bursting into laughter after seeing her.

She was a young, pink hedgehog, with striking green eyes that complemented her red dress and boots. She was rather pretty, if it wasn't for the constant scowl decorating her face.

"Aha, I'll just go," you said, politely getting out of the seat with a smile on your lips. "Wait, can I give you something?" You asked the rose hedgehog, who nodded carefully. Reaching into your flannel, a look of concentration painted your features as you rummaged for something. "Ah! Here it is," pulling out hand out, you gave her the middle finger, watching as shock washed over her.

"Why you little-"

"Ladies!" Sonic intervened, patting the seat beside him. "Amy, sit here." As you walked away, he mouthed, "I'm so sorry," with a sincere look of guilt on his face.

Sinking into a seat at the back, you increased the volume of your song, humming along. What a girlfriend he has, you thought scornfully; just when you though my you had a chance with someone, it was obviously taken away by someone else. There was just something about him that drew you to him, like a magnet. Okay but the note, man... You were shaken out of your thoughts when a small figure slouched into the seat next to you.

"I'm sorry on her behalf," a tiny voice said, causing you to look over at him. Tails shook his head sadly, "she's just a little overprotective at times, you know?" You nodded thoughtfully, tapping your chin with your index finger. "Say, do you want to sit with us at lunch?" He suggested, raising his eyebrows. You pondered for a moment before nodding and thanking him.

Finally arriving at the school, you let out a breath of relief before heading to the office, which was thankfully next to the main entrance. A kind woman named Shizune handed you your papers and schedule, wishing you the best of luck on your day.
