save me - shadow x reader x sonic

The day was busy, and Shadow accompanied you to all of your classes. "You call this hell school?" He mumbled, dragging a hand across his forehead.

You giggled a bit before replying, "Yeah. Get used to it, Shades." You snickered at your little nickname for him, as he narrowed his crimson eyes, turning to glare at you.

"Don't call me that. What class do we have now?"

Your stomach rumbled, and you blushed a little before smiling widely and grabbing a hold of Shadow's hand. "It's lunch."

He sighed as he was dragged to the cafeteria. After receiving your lunch, you looked for Sonic. Soon enough, you saw the handsome azure at a table with everyone else, two seats empty, conveniently next to each other. You casually walked over to the table, placing your tray on the table, gesturing Shadow to do the same as he sat down next to you. Sonic gave you a hug, causing your face to turn red. Your lips curled upwards at the sweet act; it had been a while since a friend hugged you.

"So (y/n)," he began, slinging an arm around your shoulders, "we're planning to have a little get together, at my house! We'd love it if you could come!" He winked, causing you to blush again.

"Sure!" You agreed happily, not noticing the sulking dark hedgie next to you. "Shades can come too, right?" You questioned, shooting a glance his way.

"Of course! A friend of yours is a friend of ours!" A thumbs up accompanied the dialogue, one eye closed in a wink. You could stare at Sonic's eyes all day--they were an emerald green, but upon closer inspection, you could just barely pick out small flecks of yellow.

"Hey (y/n), who's the handsome one?" Rouge asked, and you blushed before a confused expression crossed your face. You leaned closer to Sonic, whispering in his ear.

"Don't they know Shadow? I thought you had all met before."

Sonic shook his head, "Eggman wiped their memories[1]."

You flashed a sympathetic look at the group, all the while trying to figure out how to answer Rouge.

Shadow narrowed his eyes, attempting to act as normal as possible. Rouge was his companion on many previous missions, and her not being able to remember hurt him.

You began to speak, forming the words carefully, "He's my-"

"-boyfriend." Shadow completed for you. Your eyes widened, and you opened and closed your mouth like a fish before sitting up straight and kicking his shin as hard as you could under the table.

You smiled sweetly at the group, gritting your teeth and cupping your mouth while you leaned over to whisper to Shadow.

"What the hell! Is that the only damn thing that came to mind? Couldn't you have said you were a distant cousin?" You ferociously huffed, returning to your original position and smiling once more at the group.

Suddenly, the innocent smile was wiped off of your face as a mischievous one replaced it. If this is how it's going to be, I might as well have fun with it. You thought, an evil glint in your eye.

Meanwhile, Shadow himself was confused as to why he introduced himself as your boyfriend. Faker better back off, He angrily thought to himself. A blush crossed his face for a split moment as he realized that he might possibly think of you as more than a companion. Tch. I live with her, I can protect her just fine.

"Oh Shades," you sang, shaking the dark hedgehog out of his unwelcome thoughts. "Feed me please?"

Now it was Shadow's turn to be shocked. A bright pink covered his tan muzzle, crimson irises darting to anywhere but your own (e/c) ones. He grumbled cuss words under his breath as Sonic leaned over your back and wiggled his eyebrows at Shadow. You blushed as you felt his very well toned abs press up against you. "Hey! Shadow's blushing!" He pointed out, causing you to bolt upright, the back of your head smacking into Sonic's lips. He retreated quickly, removing his arm from your shoulders, as the rest of the group began to giggle and tease the dark hedgie.

Slowly, Shadow lifted the fork and stabbed a piece of pasta and brought it up to your lips. You raised an eyebrow, inwardly grinning.

This will be fun.
